I LOVE Humecto especially the Keracare Humecto in the tub. For some reason it seems to be thicker. I love it for deep conditioning and my hair thanks me for it everytime. It always leaves my hair shiney, soft and detangled!

Me too! I love the tub and it gives my hair great slip plus it makes my hair soft!

I'm an AFFIRM and KeraCare junkie, so hands down...if I had to choose, I would stick with Hemecto for deep conditioning. I use Nexxus Hemectress once a month - an omni pack for heavy protein, mixed with Nexxus Emergence and Botanic Oil. I won't substitute that either.

Guess it depends on what you use it for. Nexxus products can be mixed to make some of the greatest protein treatments, but my personal preference overall will still be KeraCare!!! :D

I like Humecto better, it doesn't leave my hair heavily coated and dry feeling like Humectress. I prefer Humectress as a conditioner wash, shorter timing yields better results in my opinion, its just not great as a deep conditioner IMHO.
Ditto!!! For the money I paid for Humectress, I thought it would work great...it doesn't. Humecto makes my hair extemely soft and moisturized!!!

I used humectress for the first time last month and I didnt like it. That was on my april hit and miss list....it missed. I thought I was the only person who didn't like humectress. I haven't tried keracare's conditioner. Everytime I go to Ulta it's sold out.

I'd pick humectress based solely on the smell. Not that humecto stinks, but it has a perfumey smell while humectress has a cherry kool-aid smell. :)

Also, humecto is heavier and I find that it leaves my hair less conditioned and more coated than humectress. Humectress doesn't detangle like humecto.

Both are overall good conditioners though. I got the best results from mixing them.

I prefer Humecto, but i'd suggest using the tub instead of the bottles. The bottle always seems so watered down, and doesnt work as well.

maybe natural hair is more suited to humectress - iv noticed it leaves my hair more big looking and free with movment for braid outs where as Humecto leaves it looking smaller and silkier. i think both give my hair great moisture but humecto is more of a deeper con.

ITA with naturaline. I used Humectress every week for over a year as a deep con and I didnt see a change.

I started deep con with Humecto (in a tub) every week and my hair got this amazing sheen and was much healthier in about 3 months. When I airdried, it was soft rather than brittle and hard, which was how it was with Humectress.

Gorgeous hair Macherieamour!!

I haven't tried anything other than Humectress, which I've been very satisfied with. I wonder if the brittleness and hardness some are experiencing is because of the protein in it. Humectress has a little bit but not as much as Infusium, for example, which makes my hair hard. Humectress always leaves my hair very soft, moisturized and detangled. One of these days, I'll try Humecto to experience the difference. Maybe I can get a sample somewhere.

Every since I got to the hair boards (BHM in 2003) Ive been preaching about Humecto in the tub. I love it. Ive never found a better conditioner and it smells AWESOME! I tried Nexxus but I went straight back to Keracare. Makes my hair so silky and easy to comb thru!

Why do you think its sold out  I bought it ALL!

I have tried Nexxus in the past and Keracare beats Nexxus hands down
Nexxus does not provide the moisture and slip compared to Keracare.

I use Humecto because it is strickly moisturizing no protein at all, if im looking for a little moisturizing condtioner with protein i use humectress. My hair cant take a lot of protein and i wash my hair twice a week so when my hair feels mushy then i reach for some humectress to give it a little protein and moisture at the same time.

I really like Humectress. But I can't use it for my baggie or leave it in too long. Because it is ULTRA moisturizing. It makes my hair too soft and therefore it breaks. So now I use it as a pre-poo and a leave-in.

But I use Humecto as my first conditioner, it is excellent for detangling, but I still use another conditioner over it (preferably Aveda DR) after DCing with Humecto for 15 minutes.

It is DEF. one of the best in the haircare business. Both of them are good though.

My vote is Keracare Humecto hands down. My hair was really soft after using it. Nexxus left my hair really hard.

I bought some Keracare this weekend. It was okay. The lady at JCPenny says that the Humecto in the tub is the same as in the bottle, the tub has more? Is this true? If not, what is the difference?

I read somewhere in one of these threads that the Humecto in the bottle has a "runnier" consistency and the Humecto in the tub has a thicker consistency.

I have yet to try either of them personally :look:

i used to use the humecto in the bottle. it was runny and i had to use a lot of it to even feel like i had conditioner in my hair. it doesn't detangle as good as humectress. i also use it as a leave-in sometimes.

I voted for Humecto. It's the only reason I've been able to stretch for up to 12/13 weeks - it makes even my new growth soft enough to comb, and it smells lovely too!

I used to use Humectress 20 years ago and need to re-acquaint myself with it. I do know that back then it was my hair conditioner of choice.

The Keracare Humecto doesn't excite me. I brought it after hearing about how many seemed to rave about it, and I will use it until it's gone but I like CON and Elucense much better for my own hair.

I used to use Keracare Humecto in the bottle. It was thick. It conditioned my hair well, but it didn't help with detangling.

Nexxus Humectress didn't condtion my hair well. It didn't help with my dryness issues.

i'd definitely go with the humecto. i have the tub.

humectress smells lovely, but it really isn't all that moisturizing.

but the humecto is amazing. i used it the other day to deep condition overnight after doing a relaxer touch-up corrective, and my hair was so freakin buttery soft. the blow dryer (on cool) slid through my hair. i'm in love.

i'm planning on adding some silk amino acids to this, to really bump up the slip factor.
