I just bought a Chi.
Do you guys have tips on how to use it?
I am completely natural.
I just plan on pressing the part of my hair that I leave out of my weave.

Have you ever used any kind of flat iron on your hair?

Are you saying that you want to press just a section of your hair? At the roots or at the bottom? (I am clueless about weaves.)

I hope that you have the one with a heat setting. I would start off on a low setting first and work your way up if you need to. Make sure to flat iron only on clean hair. Use a heat protection product like a serum or spray. You can find many at Sally's. Flat iron very small sections of your hair at a time for maximum effectiveness at the lowest heat level.

I have a CHI too. I hated it at first because I thought it was too hot & hurting my hair. Then I realized that it was the products I was using.
Here's my CHI advice.

Wash & Deep condition but don't use ANY of the regular heat protectants oils or grease.

When you flat iron with the CHI, you have to use Silk/Silicone products.

Also, if you use other stuff, your hair will smell...(kinda burnt) because you will be burning the products into your hair and causing damage by doing so.

I swear by the CHI Silk. But you can also use bio silk.
This is what my hair looked like when I figured this out.

There are a couple other photos of the same day - in this location.

After I deep conditioned, I rubbed a generous amount of the CHI silk into my damp hair and lightly blow-dried it (Mostly the roots because I'm transitioning) Then I let it airdry the rest of the way and poured some of the Chi into a large flat lid, and used it like you would any other pressing oil or cream. Adding a small amount to each piece as I flat ironed my hair.

HTH.

I finally used to the Chi to flat iron the part I left out of my weave and it turned out great! I ended up using the Fantasia IC heat protectant. Everything worked out great.
Thanks!
