... To get sisterlocks!

:clapping: I'm so happy about this decision after four years of thinking about it. :D What really solidified it was when I got a call from Best Buy for a job interview, and I had to rush to take down my braids/get my hair pressed before the interview. (I'd been taking them down terribly slowly because I don't get out much... they were way overdue.)

I kept thinking, "If I had sisterlocks I could just get up and go..."

That and, I'm running low on monies and getting sisterlocks will save me in the long run, because I use weaves/braids as my primary protection method.

Well anyway... I just wanted to rave about it because I'm so happy to finally have a set hair-goal. :D

Congrats on making the decision, I would love to see pics once you get them done.

Congrats on your decision! Hope you enjoy your sisterlock journey!

And I wanna see pics too!!!

Did you go to the interview with hair flat ironed, What would the feeling be if you get the job if you show up with locks not straight hair? It may be wrong but true that locks have a negative conotation.

congrats on your decision. i'm practicing the nappylocs technique b/c my mother wants to start some as well. Have you had a consultation with a stylist yet? what kind of pricing are they giving you and how much will it cost to maintain?

Sisterlocks are really beautiful tiny dreadlocks. They are created with the use of a tool and can be undone if desired. Women love them because they can be styled with the same versatility as a person with microbraids. They can be colored, rollerset, braided and shaped into just about any style.

sisterlocks are gorgeous; i can't wait for pics!!!

I just checked out the website, and I like them. Please post pics after you get them.

That's great! I've spent a couple of years wavering about different hair decisions and it feels so good to come to a solid decision. I have a friend with sisterlocks and they look lovely! :yep:

Congratulations on your decision!
There are a couple of sistas on this site with sistalocs, NappyRina being the most recent one that had them installed.
I would have loved to go the sistaloc route but the $$$ was too much for this sista :lachen:
Keep us posted, I would luv to see the pics :yep:

I will post pictures, of course. :D The price they quoted me was $1000 for the install, but that was back when I wanted microlocks... I was 16-17 and insisted on them even though they'd be impractical.

I'm hoping the price goes down now that I want them normal size... We'll see!

A few of my Mom's friends have offered to do them locally, but I'm so scared to go to anyone but Everett's! They're so disgruntled, lol.

Phew! That's a lot of money, but I'm sure they will be beautiful and well worth it. Can't wait to see the pics!

Congrats! I am in love with my sisterlocks and I know that you will be too! They are the easiest and beautiful style and make getting ready in the morning to easy!

Edited to say: Be sure to shop around. My first quote was $875 but then I found a master consultant who only charged $575.

how are they undone?

They aren't undone. Sisterlocks are locks and are installed to be permanent. Now, if you decide to take them down than you can but it is a long and tedious process. So - yes, they can be undone but they aren't meant to be.
