I've Finally Jumped On the Ayuverdic Bandwagon

I kept seeing all of these beautiful results that I just had to get in on it and unleash my inner PJ. The alma & vatika oil has made my hair incredibly soft and I plan on doing a henna treatment in the next week .

On another note: the brahmi oil that I bought is solidified (I'm assuming that's because of the coconut oil but why does it have so black stuff at the bottom. It hasn't expired

Oh, I guess I'm accidentally on the ayuverdic band wagon. I didn't realize that's what ayverdic meant! I love my vatika oil and that black stuff is just stuff. It's not expired. I use neelibhringadi oil and it's sort of dark green with specs of coconut oil. Some days it's all liquid and others it's chunky. So, I'm ayuverdic too??? LOL! I always saw those threads but thought this was a regimen for people with $$$ or something I wouldn't be interested in. I can be so silly!

I find ya gotta shake up most of the oils daily... they come infused with so many goodies that separate when settling

Im hooked on tea rinses...

Im even gonna start to use some of the ayuvedic pastes on my face

Exactly, I always shake mine up, even when I don't use them. I'm sort of OCD and for some reason it bothers me when I see they look solid. I poured my neeli oil into a clear bottle so I can see it clumping up. I'd like to hear about those tea rinses though. I drink green tea daily, should I be pouring it over my head too? I hear chamomile is good for hair too, should I rinse with this too? Don't mean to hijack the thread, but tell me more, tell me more. You can PM me if you want...

tea rinses....

2 or 3 teaspoons of the Ayurvedic powder /Indian seeds/ herbs/leaves of your choice.... steep in a couple of cups with boiling water for a few minutes.... strain out the mucilage and pour the remaining tea ( once cooled) over your hair


I work nights... I make a weeks batch worth at a time & put into a spray bottle... when I get home I spray the tea on my hair until saturated.... cover with plastic cap, then put a scarf on top... go to sleep... a few hours later, I wake up, shower & co-wash my hair, moisturize, seal & style( usually twist/braid for twistout)...If im not too lazy, I pre-poo with mustard oil before I out the tea rinse on my hair

I'm actually very excited. How does everyone mix up their henna. Do you just use water like in the directions or do you add other various oils, etc?

I used aloe vera for my last mix but quite honestly when I run out of Indian Henna, Im going back to the pre-made American made Henna... I find it jut as good for my hair, contains no baddies, is pre-mixed and readily available

I will still do Ayurvedic tea rinses
