Damn my heart breaks for you. I can't imagine how you feel.

Are you sure you have to cut that much? You're emotional right now so why don't you just let her weave you up and not cut anymore hair? Either way, its going to grow and you're going to get over this setback. Sending you an e-hug from Boston.

Hi Ladies..

I just want to thank you ladies so much for the LOVE and SUPPORT. All of you are a God send.

I cried my eyes out last night and this morning. After really looking at my hair I see that not only did this "stylist" cut at least 3" off the length she cut about 4" or more trying to give me layers. If it was just a short cut I could live with that but it's a bad hair cut. I can't do anything with it this way. So my only options are to go get a short hair cut or maybe a SL bob, or just weave it up for at least 6 months. So I called my awesome "weave stylist" this morning (crying of course) and she made room for me today at 1pm.

I'm still up for the BSL challenge this summer 2010..lol! I'm not down for the count!! And I'm going to leave my Avatar up for inspiration. You ladies have been wonderful and I thank you so much. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have this board!

I still have my faith, I still have my health, I still have my job, I still have my home, I have my family, I have my friends, and I have my LHCF sisters. I know everything is going to be alright.

And I'm going to pray for that stylist. I'm going to pray I don't see her out in the street with my tennis shoes on..:lachen:

I LOVE YOU GUYS! MUAH!

Bella, :bighug:

Don't cut it. Protect it for a while and let the layers grow out. Keep track of your progress in pics for 2010. And keep us posted too. :hug2:

I don't understand why people become stylist to chop off and ruined people's hair! Makes me so angry.. They have no passion, no concern, just don't care... some motives are just out of jealously... and then for what? so they don't even remember they did that at the end of the week.

Maybe I cry jealously to often but that looks intentional, maybe she thinks that you got that hair that "can grow" it will grow back anyway, not knowing that you put a lot of hard work into growing your hair. I'm sorry this happen to you, you can still appreciate beautiful hair, it still looks real nice.

Good for you for being able to pick up the pieces and move on. Your hair will be back to where it was--no, BETTER--before you know it. You will be shocked at how fast it happens. We will all be celebrating with you when it happens!

No words for this "stylist." She isn't even worth it.

Let me tell you about something that happened to me a couple of weeks ago: I went to a well-respected local stylist for a consultation. (I've been doing my own hair--including relaxers--since last spring, but I thought it might be interesting to get a professional's take on my hair.) My hair was airdried, which may not be my best look LOL, but it was soft and moisturized. She proclaimed that my ends were "dead" and I would need to lose about 4 inches of hair, which would bring me from around APL to around neck length. "Then we will see if we can grow it back from there," she says.

At that point, I'm feeling a strange combination of emotions. First, I'm relieved, because my biggest worry was not my ends but my roots. I'm new to the self-relaxing game, so I'm happy to learn that I haven't been destroying my hair. I'm also amused, because all hair is "dead," of course. Plus, I know that I've been treating my ends like silk. Heck, I run a humidifier in my office at work and at home, I oil like crazy, I steam, I deep condition, I sleep on a silk pillowcase--you name it. My ends may not be Pantene commercial material, but they aren't bad.

She also tells me she would recommend that I come to her for relaxers every 4 weeks. I pretty much checked out after that point. I thanked her for her time and high-tailed it out of there (probably clutching my hair as I ran LOL). The very next day, I went to one of the haircutting chains; I think it was Supercuts. The woman who saw me told me my hair looked healthy, took 1/4 inch off the ends (and did a great job), and told me I wouldn't need another trim for at least two months. What a difference.

That's messed up because your b4 pic didn't even look like you needed a trim let alone a CUT. I wouldn't cut it or weave it up, I would just do rollersets or updo's and go hair accessary shopping.

:bighug:

From someone who's suffered a setback (Self induced in my case), this time next year your hair will be longer than your before picture :yep:

:bighug:

Chick was being a hater....

Yeah, I would have had to flash on that a**!

U b okay. Just put your hair away for a while.

Oooh no!!!! She did what!!!!

But I appreciate you showing the pics....it is inspirational to others.... I wanna give you a big hug OP!!!

Keep at it...You have the technique to grow as seen in your first pic

I look forward to seeing growth updates from you since im in the BSL 2010 challenge too!

Oh and as the other ladies said: DO NOT CUT!!! Let it grow out :)

Yeah that totally looks intentional. Your hair didn't need a cut at all. Keep your head up and protect your hair. It will grow back. That stylist would get it from me. You need to talk to the owner of the establishment and show them your before pics of your hair and show them how it looks now. She needs to be reprimanded.

You have such a positive attitude that I'm sure you will see great growth in the next few months. Sometimes life (Hater stylist) takes us down paths we don't really dont want to go on but it's how you deal with it that makes the difference and your attitdue is commendable.

I have been there! It's so hard to tell a stylist what you want. It's like some sort of voodoo. I overcame it this weekend. I had to tell her, yes I want to go under the dryer, once with oil and once with conditioner! And no, you cannot clip my hair! I have a layer of hair in the back that 's grazing my waist. I'm almost there.....

Good luck girl

When your hair grows back even longer, you should make an appointment with another stylist in the same salon for a consult or something simple, just so you can shake it in the face of the stylist that did this to you. naa-naa-na-naa-naa!!

Sweetie you will be just fine. I have been there and since then I NEVER let "them" trim/chop off my hair. I went online and did tons of research and learned how to trim my own ends..I would do a little with each retouch. My last stylist trim was over 15 years ago when I asked for a trim and she combmed my hair down into the mushroom style and just chopped it off into a round circle...disreagarding any hair that was shorter than the hair she trimmed...I was done then..and yes I firmly beleive it's envy...think about it..how many stylist do you know with truly healthy hair...with any length?

OP...I'm so sorry this happened. She really just was doing too much. No need for her to cut all that pretty hair.

Thank God that hair grows back. Your attitude is great and I can't wait to see your install...will you post pics (hint hint)!

Do you have any sites or YT videos to recommend

OP: I'm really sorry to read this. I was doing a search on flat irons and came across your welcome thread a couple months ago. I thought your hair looked nice and healthy (although you were flat ironing everyday). You're not still doing that are you tisk tisk.

Anyway now I see this happened. The stylist didn't even give you decent style. She just chopped away :wallbash: But like others have said in a few months it will be back. Take heart.

Heavenly Touch Salon in Clarkston. All I wanted was a 1/4" trim. NOT a hair cut. I thought if I showed her what I wanted it would be fine. But once she cut into my hair all I could do was hope that if I didn't like the length that the cut itself would be ok and it would just grow out. I got BAD hair cut. It won't style and the front is even worse..

Oh goodness. In CLARKSTON? Clarkston has those really ghetto fab salons! Is it the one near Strokers or on E Ponce near the grocery store?

Honestly speaking, there's no good that can come from over in that area. Except for the farmer's market.

If you still need reinforcements, I'm still down with ya, but I think I'll need some backup! LOL!

ROTFLMAO:lachen::lachen::lachen: Near Strokers I'm embarrassed to say. And I live in Gwinnett with all the "other" folks. You know what's so ironic? If I want to get my natural hair trimmed I can't go the AA salons, but if I want a fly weave or braids I gotta go to the ghetto.

Sigh..I loves my peoples though..

:shocked:WOW!...I think she needs a drive buy @$$ whoopin!:sekret: :axehunter:

Just know your weave stylist is going to hook you up and by summer you will be back to where you where

Is your usual growing rate about 1/2" per month? Look at it like this: By June you'll have either almost all or all of that hair back.

And you know we're all here to help you get through this, right?:yep:

Either way, here's a hug:bighug:.

Don't let nobody steal ya swagga,

Bella Atl...Keep your head up. HUGS to you!!! Trevprit makes an excellent point!!! Thank you so much for sharing and giving us the name of the salon to stay away from. That was not right of her to cut your hair off. She needs much prayer, esp if she is so jealous as to do this to you.

First of all, you have some pretty hair!
I love it!!!!

Second of all, your hair will be back to its old length and longer before you know it.
I hope you're feeling better soon. :bighug:

Make plans to go back to her and swing it in her face when it does grow back. make pretend you want a service, then walk right back out of there!

LMFAOOOOOO! You need to avoid Brockett Road at all costs!!! Stay on 78; do not exit!

But yeah, all the fliers that come in my mailbox and the ads on Craig's List have the majority of fly weaveologists and braiders in Clarkston/Stn Mtn. "Clay" Co. runs a close second.

She cut too much. PERIOD!!! Your ends didn't look bad to me.

I've been a victim before, so I wish you happy hair growing in 2010!!!
