I got it a few months ago after reading all the rave reviews here and elsewhere since I began transitioning.....I'm still transitioning...right now, I don't like the denman and I don't use it...I've used a natural boars bristle brush for years on my relaxed hair.... it slided across my hair - barely touching the scalp....sometimes I've used a plastic paddle brush (with the little balls on the tip) I like the way the paddle felt as it massaged against my scalp with the relaxed hair...I wouldn't use the paddle brush now, especially not with all this new growth...
but I tried the denman during my early months of transitioning, and I didn't like it...it was rough on my scalp, unlike the paddle brush, and it felt like it was ripping my hair out unlike the boars bristle brush which glided across my hair and smoothed it out...but I still have it and I will keep it...maybe a year from now, when I'm fully natural I will like it...right now I mainly use a wide tooth comb to detangle and maybe the boars bristle.....
however once I did straighten my hair and used the denman to wrap it...but I still preferred the plastic paddle brush better..it was softer against the scalp
