A Michigan law states that a wife's hair legally belongs to her husband.

A random fact I know lol but I think it's interesting and I wanna know how you would feel if that law was well known and enforced?

Here are a few British laws that still exist.

- In the UK a pregnant woman can legally relieve herself anywhere she wants - including a policeman's helmet.

- It isnt an offence to murder a Scotsman within the ancient city walls of York - but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow.

- It is an act of treason to place a postage stamp bearing the British king or queen's image upside-down.

To answer your question.. I wouldn't feel anything lol. If me and my husband were going to get a divorce. I doubt the last thing he'd say is b!tch I WANT YOUR HAIR.

That is a real interesting fact, wow lol. I wonder how the women of Michigan feel about that? Do they know about this law? I would love to read their views.

How would I feel if this was a well known and enforced law? Honestly I would feel slightly irritated and psychologically depowered why? Because my hair is on my head! It is on my body! My hair was giving to me by God and my parent’s genetics. My hair was on my head long before I met my man, so I don’t see how my hair could legally belong to him! my hair doesn’t belong to my man, no stylist, its all mine

I can respect my man’s opinion about my hair, for example he likes my hair long rather than short but I wouldn’t be able to tolerate him dictating to me about my hair choices and reemphasizing the point that my hair belongs to him! That would drive me insane lol. I would have to write to the government and get that policy amended asap lol.:wallbash:

LOL

I live in Michigan and I've never heard of this. I'm sure my DH wouldn't care unless he was trying to be funny about it.

:dead: @ the bolded!!!!
But really, you never know. If he knew it was important to you, and the divorce wasn't amicable, then he might do that just to spite you. As for me, I would just make sure to marry a man who didn't really care either way what I did with my hair.

Dang...I don't like that. Maybe I've been too jaded by the world, but I can totally see some men forcing their wives to cut or otherwise manipulate their hair in a way that the wife isn't fond of, especially if they're the jealous type. It'd just be another form of abuse.

^^^^ Girl U CRAZY but why was I like Ernie is in the background laughing my tail off.

In NJ it is illegal to have an Ice Cream cone in your back pocket on sunday
bathe a donkey in your shower on sunday I believe

IN PA -- ORAL you know what is ILLEGAL

IN GA - It is illegal as well I believe

A few states also tell you what positions of the Kootie Poo you can do, GO FIGURE GET A LIFE, and catch murders and thieves and pedophiles. No worrying about something that keeps crime down. LOL :lachen:

There are so many old laws that are still on the books but (thankfully) not enforced.
