Ok ladies. I use henna every 6-8 weeks (or so) and DID use Indigo and love the results.
Here's the deal...I've found several great recipes for Henna where you add conditioner, honey or oils that allow the henna to maintain it's strengthening properties, while becoming creamier making for smoother applications.
When I first started using Henna my henna was kind of dry and by the time I applied to my hair, little balls would fall and stain wherever they landed.
As I said, you all provided some wonderful suggestions, and my henna is now a creamy texture that glides on without dropping all over the place.
Not so much for the Indigo. I simply stopped using it because every time "tried" to apply it I would have to get some painters drop cloth from the basement, 3 to 4 old beach towels to lay on top of that, cover the bath room sink with saran wrap, etc.., and I would still end up with black balls all over the place. If you don't immediately get those balls up when they drop, they stain and not even bleach removes the stain.
So, long story to ask for your help..does anyone have a great recipe for Indigo that makes it creamier and less lumpy? erplexed
