I'm curious, what temperature do you guys normally set your flat iron to?

B/w 280 and 320 max on my Sedu. 280 is perfect if I've "air straightened/dried" my hair w/ a silk scarf first.

I think the results of this poll are gonna be slightly in accurate as some people are talking in degrees farenheit(American brands) and others are talking about degrees celcius(English brands). My straightners go up to 210(410) degrees celcius maximum. I use 130(266) and 170(338). Don't think I have ever felt the need to go up to the maxium. I definitely recommend Corioliss straightners to anyone who is looking to buy a pair - definitely gives you the salon look.
Sorry if I'm repeating something that's already been said, I didn't read the whole thread..

Do flat irons even go higher than 450?
I was in Sally's today and a lady was looking for an iron that got higher than that. My eyes almost popped out of my head.

About 400-425...wish i could get it higher :perplexed My hair refuses to straighten! Maybe it's something i'm doing?

I have an Ion Anti-Frizz Ionic Ceramic Straightening Flat Iron, and it doesn't have a temperature setting. I can tell you that it gets hot as hell though.

Update:

I still have my Ion Anti-Frizz Ionic Ceramic Straightening Flat Iron, but I've had a Sedu 1.5 Flat Iron since December 2007, so I no longer use the Ion flat iron.

This weekend I used my Maxiglide on 5.

So many people are saying they use it on low settings like 1. :look:

I will try it on a lower temp next weekend to see how my hair likes it.
