Suggestion I wish there were an easier way to "mention" people...

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the "mention" feature, but sometimes it just gets annoying trying to copy and paste the user's "member number" and then copy and paste their "Username" so that they know that you mentioned them in your post.

I wish there were an easier way. :ohwell:

I wonder if there could be a "mention" button that you could click on (sort of like the "Thank You" button) so that you could automatically mention that person in your post whether or not you want to quote their entire post or not.

*sigh* Just a minor suggestion that's all! I'm not even sure if it's possible, but overall I LOVE the board and I LOVE this site! :grin:

All I did was type the at sign (@) and your username right
next to each other. You can't leave a space and it helps
to be careful that you're typing correctly.

When there is a username separated by a space you'll need
to use an underscore for the space.
 
I know Lucie hahaha! It seems all extra having to know the
member number!

When I go back to edit a post with a mention, the member's
number is displayed within the code for the mention, if that
makes sense.

Oh and Lucie the member number is just the number that is shown next to the member name if you're ever quoting someone's post.

So I would literally be like this trying to "mention someone" : [ mention = 4444444 ] Lucie [ / mention ] Argggg! Used to take so long! :nono:
 
Well, while in advanced post, there is a little speaker thingie
you can use.

You can type out the person's username, highlight it then
click that speaker thing all the way to the right of the options
above the box you type in.

Every time someone mentions you, I get notified also. I'm used to it now but It's still al little annoying when I get summoned and it's not me they're mentioning but you. :grin:
 
Janet' I make that mistake lots of times with usernames.

I just realized if I'm careful, I can highlight the username from
your post without clicking it. Then paste it into the message
box! No typos :yep:
