I was accepted into Aveda Institute cosmetology school today

i'm a pretty quiet person and mainly keep to myself until i get to know someone. but thanks for the heads up.

thanks. this was so last minute. i inquired about more info last Thursday, they called & emailed me Friday to set up an admissions appt for today, and i got accepted today!

Thank you so much Garner! I graduate this coming up Valentines Day. I'm so excited about it!

Yes ma'am! I lifted my color this summer but added highlights last weekend. I learned how to foil highlights at school and put that good knowledge to use on my own head of hair (because you know I'm not letting a non-LHCF approved stylist within 50 ft. of my hair!) :lachen:

Congratulations! How wonderful to be able to do that without having to worry about from where the money will come. You have earned this opportunity. Bravo!
 
Aveda is an awesome school. When I was researching the one in Dallas I seen a video. They do stretches before class. Idk I just think that's a quality school. I wish I could have went but they wanted $1500 up front. You are so lucky and what a great oppurtunity (sp).

Congratulations! I know you're just getting started, but I can't wait to hear more about the products you want to create! We can't go wrong with another in house cosmetologist and product creator! :) Best wishes! :)
 
Congrats. I'm taking a tour of the one in Chicago when I go home for break. It's a little early since I plan on enrolling next spring semester (2013), but I want to make sure it's the right school for me.

Please keep us posted on your experience. I'd love to hear what a LHCF'er thought of the program instead of just going by the brochures. Will you be going part-time or full-time?

yes that is a blessing. i graduated with my BS in Chemistry back in 2003 but haven't been able to do much with the degree. i said i wouldn't go back to school unless it's for something that truly interests me and hair is my mini obsession. lol

i will have to find that video. the other school i was interested in was the Dudley beauty school in Kernersville but their website is down & I couldn't find much info about them

i have been a kitchentician since 2003 when i first found the hair boards. i keep a notebook with all my recipes, the successes and failures. i have a BS in Chemistry & i want to get my masters in Cosmetic Chemistry from the Univ of Cincinnati so i can learn the "proper" way for formulating cosmetics. once i'm done with this cosmo school i plan to do that.

thanks. i will be going full time. their program is only 10.5 months also. i thought beauty was longer than that. they also have an esthiology program that's 4.5 months that i might also do once i'm finished with cosmo school
 
Congratulations! Acceptance to Aveda is quite an accomplishment!



(OT: How does the School pronounce it? Ah-vee-dah or Ah-vay-dah? LOL)
