No, its layered into the look, it fell today but it still looks really good. It takes like 2 min to cut and fluff into the style. I love it so far. Even IF i had to curl it to maintain the style, it's weave, not MY hair. lol
SUCH a small world. I miss my sis, she's currently an Engineer for Boeing and she lives in Philly, although she really wants to move back to Houston. How do you know her if you dont mind me asking?

We were freshman at FAMU together. She was good friends from high school with someone I knew. I knew she was an engineer and I heard she didn't live in TX anymore.
I swear you make me want to get my first weave. 
I've been wanting a bob cut/style weave for a min, but can never bring myself to do it.
Plus I don't want to have to deal with ppl and the "OMG, you cut your hair!!!"" and then the confusion 3 months later, when I'm rocking my BSL again. Nobody will believe the short cut is weave, but the long stuff is mine. 
My index finger is itching to dial my stylist and leave a message. Gosh!

I love it. Nothing like a good cut and you are gorgeous. I'm subscribing. I may copy your hairstyle in the spring. I'm going longer than I normally would in a couple weeks for a vacay trip. I haven't found the secret to keeping my weaves in for extended periods without getting major tangles.

I think you should go for it. BOOP BOOP to what people think, Amara because realistically, theyll have a hard time believing the BSL is yours anyway. Take your time and think about it, it could be a nice change during the hotter months.
I'll always recommend a weave for a drastic hair change; i tried on wigs at the BSS and it didnt have the same effect
Aww man, thanks so much, Loved. Copy away. I dont think weave maintenance for extended periods is difficult, I really think the moisturizing & take down is where people have issues. If you un-sew the weave, you carefully take down the braids and comb out with a wide toothed comb. i lightly oil my hair from root to tip after combing it out and bun it over night and wash the next day (after making sure there arent any knots first). The tangles are from improper detangling after take down, just like with braids.

Wow...if you had not told the board it was a weave, I would think this is all your hair. Your stylist does an AMAZING job - the first time and with the cut!

Oh - you are rocking that weave something tough...A little matting is worth 2" of growth! Just go slow when you are detangling, and it will be all good. I am gonna wear my sew-in until Dec also. I do take it down monthly to deep condition and retighten, but if I can stretch it- you know I will....

yes, she makes wigs too. i saw her and another girl doing it. making them and styling/cutting them
i think i could swim with weave, everyday though? not so much. its like washing the hair. now it depends on the hair you get and the way you moisturize/dry it. im worried about the effects to your own hair. im going to though, suggest you cop yourself a swim cap for your vacay. just in case.

I'm natural, there's no chemicals in there, just weave and a flat iron. lol. This is easier maintenance than the longer weave.

That's what I'm talking about! I wish there was a way to make this a sticky so that the next time someone goes a bit batty and talks about getting a "cute cut" after growing a beautiful mane, I can point them to this thread to show them the way to do it: "Get a weave and get that cut, not your hair, for crying out loud!"
