Anyone else have this problem? The hair at my nape is 3a and grows like c r a z e e e!!!

As a result, it's noticably longer than the rest of my hair. I used to try and trim it, but then its so hard for me to cut such beautiful hair. All it's trying to do is reach the next goal, albeit sooner than the rest of my hair!!!

Should I hold it back or let it do it's thang?

If you want a blunt, even cut, or even a gentle U, you must cut it. It will grow faster than the rest simply because it is A)under a lot of other hair, being protected B)the hair protecting it is exposed to air more and more damaged, so it has a hard time catching up, C)that nape area LOOKS longer because it is placed lower on your head.

So there could be nothing wrong wiith hair that starts at the crown, but it would still have to catch up to the nape hair. Baby that crown/canopy!

It is slow progress, but it will grow out. And it looks soooo pretty when all of your hair is mostly the same length.

I have the same issue. Unfortunately, the strands from the ear down are a completely, different texture and is easier to detangle.
When I wash and go it does not shrink as much so it looks like a tail/mullet.

I have monitored my hair during my long transition and I realize the back of my hair really does grow faster and retain length better. (I measure root to tip) It doesn't help that it is at the bottom either, which makes the difference more drastic.

I have learned to live with it for now.
