I guess i might as well accept that fact , unless there is some miracle out there that will get more growth out of it...i think my genetics have stopped anymore possible growth

anybody else out there felt they reached their growth maximun and found a way to get a few more inches???? dang i would take a half of an inch or an inch even...any more growth at all ....my hair is stuck lol

not yet. but hopefully the day I get there my hair will be as long as yours. You have thick beautiful long hair and it looks so healthy.
the only thing a could suggest is maybe to up your intake of vitamins.

I too think that genes definitely play a part in maximum achievable (as distinct from achieved) length. This may be what's happening with you. Or, your hair might just be in 'neutral' right now...mine seems to go through resting phases and growth spurts...might be just in my mind, but it surely seems that way. Or maybe you just need to try to stick to a regimen of well moisturized ends and protective styles for a while, and see what happens before you throw in the towel.

well girl my hair sure is taking a long a$$ break and rest....i remember when i was first growing my hair out , i would littlerally look in the mirror every day just to see if it grew...like it would grow before my eyes..most of ya'll know that torture.... its not like im doin that now or anything...but im just starting to face the possibility that i just might not grow anymore. and this is the best its gonna get. im gonna try a few more things vitamin wise....the other option is to not press at all for a long long time...but i dont know how well i will do with that one.

If my hair ever gets as long as yours I won't care if it stops growing.

I agree with the poster who said that when it warms up you'll probably get another spurt. Maybe you need to eat better or take a hair vitamin.

Irresistible,

How do you know your hair is not growing? I bet if your hair was relaxed and 2 months passed by, you'd see that you'd have an inch (at least) of new growth! I think when you're natural, it's harder to tell that your hair has grown b/c there's no "difference" to compare it to. So, I think your hair IS growing but until it's a noticeable difference, you won't be able to tell.

I know exactly what you mean! The longest my hair has ever been is waist length but I don't know if that's because I always cut it before it can grow longer. Right now I am very tempted to get a blunt cut to get rid of the "U" shape I have now. I would prefer to let it grow longer than waistlength, then cut it, but I'm getting impatient.

My hair also seems to be growing slowly now, too. Any time that I have my hair cut to my shoulders or mid-back, it grows back at lightening speed. People ask me "Didn't you just cut your hair recently? It grew back so fast!" But at this length, it just seems to creeeeep along. I don't know if I'm just imagining that or not.

One thing that helps is when you see someone you haven't seen in a few months and they comment on how much longer your hair is now, when you haven't even noticed that it's grown at all.

girl cause i press it and see it straight and its still the same as usual...im somewhere past past bra strap(dont know the inches) , but wanted to get to waist length, but it hasnt moved in a long long time...lawd girl if i relaxed it, it would go the other way and break and get shorter..i really really think it stopped now for real though

Ok, I'll add one more thing. I used to always think my hair was the same length and never growing. Even with people constantly saying, "omg, your hair has really grown." I didn't believe. It always seemed the same length to me. I tend to think it's also b/c I saw my own hair every single day. As it grew, I automatically adjusted to the length...but since this happened daily, I never really noticed that I'd have to do something different till many months later, I'd realize...I can't do my hair like that anymore. It's gotten too long.

One day, a friend showed me a picture from about 5 years ago. My hair was SO much shorter than it was at the time of seeing the picture. Then, I REALLY realized how much my hair really had grown.

I hope I am making sense!

Thank you you guys...and i know it must sound crazy me even wishing or caring for more growth at this point when others are just waiting and longing to get there.....but trust me its just a matter of time for ya'll and its been ten years now for me....i know it might not seem like it makes sense, but trust me when you get to one place you might still want more, while others may say your crazy cause they see where you are at and feel they would be content then (i thought that too) ...although i am content and if my hair didnt grow another inch i truly would not complain but i cant lie , i was hoping it would grow a little more. but its not the end of the world if it doesnt and im happy with my hair now and appreciate it greatly with all that ive been through to get here (God knows)....just hopefull for a little more growth thats all. but i think its reached it maximum now...thats kewl and everything , but im just trying to face i might not get to that waist legnth like i wanted....watch in time you guys will have other saying (if you dont already) that they would be happy if their hair was where yours is and you will or might still be hoping for even more growth..i know for some it might sound crazy, i fought and worked hard to get where im at now , so im thankfull (really thankfull) waist legnth would just be sooo sooo nice
smile.gif
trust me your hair will get there , you are already there@hairlove , just with the two textures right now , but it will very soon be all natural trust me. and after a few years you will get bored with it and want something more or different...i have dreams sometimes of my hair being at a full waist legnth lol...i hate those dreams lol

Irresistible,

You are SO right about always wanting more. Even when my hair was at its longest, I still wanted it longer!
