but i got NO heat....so, does that mean its NOT possible??? i dont wish to spend money on a dryer right now, and i want to know if a tx can be done without buying on....
i didnt know heat was actually required for a protein treatment, i always thought it was optional because i only do mine w/ heat when i combine them w/ my deep conditioning treatments.
i would say that instead of using a dryer, you could just heat up a towel in the microwave and wrap that around your hair to get the same effect.

im sorry...i didn't know you had NO heat at all. Candibaby made a good suggestion.
Someon once recommended heating a damp towel like candi said and wrap it around the plastic cap that's covering your conditioned hair. Then wrap and dry towel around that and it supposedly insulates your head and stays hot for a longer period of time. I never tried it but moist heat sounds good....HTH
Most of the time, molecules of protein are too large to penetrate without some form of heat. Luna made a good suggestion about using a damp, hot towel. You can also wet it, and put it in the micro for a few minutes...
If you dont want to spend money on a dryer, a heating cap would still be a good investment.

[/ QUOTE ] /images/graemlins/smile.gif Heat caps are great b/c they are silent don't get overly warm, but warm enough and create a steam-like condition. There are two heating levels as well and there's no blowing heat on the hair so it comes out super moist. I think the average cost is $20. I think mine was made by Gold n' Hot, but I bought it @ Sally's. Worth every penny /images/graemlins/smile.gif .
