My advice, up your style and accessory options. There are so many ways to buns and accessories. If you want cheap ones try Etsy. Or splurge. I do a little of both. I bun everyday, love it. My hair gets annoying when its down.

@indarican, I rarely donut bun anymore. I use my own hair mostly but when I do, I wrap a piece of satin scarf around the cotton sock so my hair then is laying against satin not cotton.

ETA: People really take notice to hair accessories when you dress it up. Even a dude complimented me on my hair flower today.

I have been bunning constantly for the past three years and to be honest I am very used to it. In fact wearing my hear down makes me paranoid about breakage of my ends. But I have to say that keeping my hair in a bun has led to sooooooooo much retention that in three years I am 2 inches from waist. I started at shoulder length and I am very impressed with the thickness and length of my hair. Keep it up and when you tired of bunning, do a french roll or a top knot or bantu knots or a rollerset.

Keep it interesting and watch the retention and difference in your hair, I have turned it into a little gam by watching to see how big my bun gets month after month and year after year. That's why I have a bun in my avatar picture because I am in love with them now.
Also there alot of ladies on here, youtube and hairblogs that can be inspirational with their pretty protective styles

How are you ladies bunning ? I'm trying to avoid SSKs and tangles, so I stretch my hair with banding until it's dry or I do a twist out. How can I turn my stretched banded hair or twist outed hair into a bun ? And what products do you use ?

TIA ! :)
