They get /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif out of 5

webby - I don't know where you got yours from but they have a special going on now where you get the real big bottles of shampoo and conditioner as a set for only $19.95. My beautician uses the self-absorbed on me because she said the moisture maniac was a little too heavy for my hair because my scalp and hair gets oily after only two days from the time she shampoos my hair and that's without me putting any additional products on my hair (oil).

Dream, I bought mine at a local salon chain. I didn't want to buy the big bottles until I tried them out. I definitely think that I will be adding them to my staples, but I'm going to wait to see if I notice any oilyness.

webby, I understand about trying out the small bottles first, it makes sense. I don't think the Moisture Maniac conditioner will make your hair oily per say, but my beautician has this thing about hair bouncing and moving all over the place that she avoids using products that she thinks may be too heavy for an individual and I just happen to be one of those individuals, mainly because of the natural oils my scalp produces which make my hair look weighed down and oily after a couple of days. But some people may need the Moisture Maniac and she has that as well for those who need it.

Dream, how long does your stylist leave self absorbed on your hair?

I noticed that my hair gets a little oily lately; I think it's a post partum change. I like my hair light and bouncy too. I don't know if leaving the conditioner on too long, will weight the hair down any more or less.

candibaby -

Cetearyl alcohol

This ingredient is used in cosmetic products to act as an emollient, moisturizer, emulsifier, and emulsion stabilizer, opacifier, thickener and viscosity adjuster.

Cetearyl alcohol also plays a role as a carrier agent for other ingredients.

Cetyl Alcohol is a high purity fatty alcohol meeting NF specifications and is useful in cosmetic formulations for thickening, conditioning, opacity and emollience.

Stearyl alcohol is a nonionic surfactant used as a hair coating in shampoos and conditioners.

Stearyl alcohol is used as an emollient (skin softener), emulsifier, and thickener in creams and lotions.

These alcohols are harmless not in any way related to rubbing alcohol.

Let me just say this...

I am a PJ. I have tried many conditioners in the past 3 years with varying results.

The ONLY conditioner that has remained a staple in my regimen has been the Moisture Maniac. This is the best thing I have ever tried, and I'm sure that I've been through about 6 liters of this stuff in the past 3 years.

I HIGHLY recommend it.

Oh yeah, will be trying this out. I wonder if they give mail out samples? /images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif

webby - only for about three minutes with no heat...hmm, could it be because the bottle says self-absorbed? Hee Hee

Oh and your hair will go through a change after having a baby. Don't you get me to lying, but I think the natural oils from the scalp makes the hair nice, thick and healthy, of course provided you wash your hair properly. It also keeps from having to add unnecessary oils to your scalp or ends. I keep my hair wrapped at night or wear a silk bonnet to give the direction a break and I never apply additional oils and my ends are pretty healthy with the oil distribution from my scalp.

By the way, how old is that precious baby of yours?

Dream, sounds like we share the same regimine; I keep my hair wrapped too.

My sweety is 7 months.

vitamins C & D, to my knowledge, cannot be absorbed by the hair. I think they threw these ingredients in to make it look cute.

The ingredients in Moisture Maniac look promising /images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif

Happy you found it Webby. This is for being a Relapsed PJ /images/graemlins/spank.gif

As I have stated many times before (in different ways...)...

Moisture Maniac is my baby daddy.

I like Self Absorbed too, but Moisture Maniac... wow. I've been using this for four years now and have probably used up at least 10 liters over those years. This is my absolute favorite conditioner.

I was sweating for a minute, but I already had this itch. I was faithful to both of these for at least a year. Loved them all the way through. :)

Girl, please. I'm a Gemini so who knows. Nothing keeps me entertained for that long. I went back to Nexxus (again) . Maybe it had SLS? I think I just burned out and wanted something new. I truly can't recall.

Bhwahhha...Girl, I can't stop myself. Bad WEBBY, Bad Webby!

I would say that it's a toss up between sedal and Tigi. I use Sedal's leave in and deep conditioner, but Tigi is more of a quick rinse for me. SOOOO much slip.

k, now don't let me catch you in Sally's

Bumpity, bump, bump for Crys :)

Thanks Webby. I think I'm gonna use it this weekend.

I've had the poo & conditioner (Self Absorbed) since the end of November, but was afraid to use it.
