Congratulations DivineFavor! Your family is beautiful. I shed some tears reading your amazing story and looking at the beautiful pictures of your special day. God is good(that's all I can say).

OT. Thank you for mentioning Chocolate Brides. I had never heard of the site before but I joined yesterday. It's refreshing to see brides that are not regularly featured in the big name bridal magazines. FH and I are tying the knot on August 17th. Also with a blended family and my daughter is very much a part of the ceremony...He even "proposed" to her with a special ring that the three of us picked out together.

Once again Congratulations girl....you two make a beautiful couple.

I was no more good, I cried like a baby from that point on...then when I saw DH crying it was a done deal...I was no longer worried about my make-up...I just cried, cried, cried. :lachen:

I've been traveling a lot and don't get to come on as much. I seem to miss a lot! Yes, please call me sometime.

PoeticJustice....girl, you imagine how I was on that day. DH and I watched the video Friday night and we were both sitting there wiping our eyes. :lachen:

Did you do all the organizing yourself or did you use a wedding planner? While I uh...ahem...am only asking for a friend of a friend of mine. I am just curious because everything looks so together and so beautiful.

When I ...I mean when my friend's friend gets to that point I know I want to have a wedding just a nice....she would want her friends to be just a nice...

EB - Girl, you are too funny!!! We did not have a planner as we could not afford that. My goal was to have something simple but elegant. I did a lot of things myself. I made my girls bouquets, all the guys (including hubby and the host) bouts, and flower pin for the hostess with silk flowers. My bouquet were fresh flowers from Bi-Lo and cost are $40 including fresh flower corsages for my mom and hubby's mom. I also made the center pieces for the tables. Chocolatebrides.com was a big help, Hobby Lobby, Wal-mart, and the Dollar Tree were my best friends. I also purchased stuff online (like petals I received about 3000 petals in my colors for around $45 or so). Mind you we officially got engaged on January 25th....we didn't decide to actually have a wedding with a small bridal party (initially it was going to just be us and the kids) until the middle of March. However, everything came together by May 31st!

I received wonderful help from about 6 women from the church. The day before the wedding they showed up at the rehearsal asked me what was my vision and they ran with. They took some of my decorations that I made from some silk flowers and incorporated to what they had. One lady had gone in the back of her mother's yard and outside her office building and hand picked magnolia and ivy to use as decoration for the ceremony. Used tulle and some of my silk flowers decorations and voila!

Oh my cousin was the Day of Coordinator...and I tell you she worked it. Everything flowed smoothly, when snags popped up she handled them and made sure we started exactly at 1:00 (she knows I am very prompt :lachen:).

Let me know if your friend friend's need any help when you I mean she gets ready to plan her wedding. :lachen:

Well, Uh I am planning my friend's wedding too. No date has been set and no groom yet. I already decided she was going to have her wedding cake from Cakes by Gerard. She was going to have her wedding reception at the Gaylord Hotel at the National Harbor. I was tempted to sign up for Chocolate brides to aid her in any other fictional thoughts for the non existent wedding. :grin:
