Are we as women that desperate? It may just be the OP's biological clock ticking, if so, adopt a baby or just focus on yourself for awhile.
The right man will come along, but until then you're missing out on him running 'round with this guy.

It sounds like he is very insecure. Insecure men always tend to think that you will leave them and "upgrade" with someone else......Unless he really wants to make a change it may not get better
