TIA

More than likley it's a roller/wrap. Roller set your hair then after it dries either blow dry your roots like the Dominicans and wrap it or use a flat iron and wrap it. Your just loosening up the curl some. Don't wrap to tight either, use a vent brush, and ther you have it style as desired.

First off I am not a beautician but I do know how to copy a do!!!

Depending on the length of your hair:

SL or APL: Wash and set your hair on medium sized rollers. Instead of rolling hair all the way, smooth the top portion (around the hair part that you want) and roll up until where you have smoothed down.

Dry your rollerset under a hooded dryer, take the rollers out and proceed to pin your curls up to attain the length Rihanna has in the photo.

For more volume on top of the head proceed to do your rollerset as normal. When you take the rollers out smooth out your curl by taking a fine tooth comb and gently coming top portion of curled hair making sure never to comb through entire hair. This adds a lot of body to a curly do.

If you are beyond APL I would say do the same and just bobby pin your long curl up to appear shorter.

I hope this helps!

It's almost like the hairstyle in my Avatar!

I just used a large curling iron and flat pinned my curls for 2 hrs then took them down!

Flexirod (about 8) on dry hair ... focus the flexis towards the hairline (by the ears and the nape) and leave the top flat.. check attachment:
