How strict are you with your hair regiment?

I do what I think my hair needs when it needs it. I'm not strict at all about my regiment (if you can call it a regiment). I'm thinking that perhaps this is why I'm not seeing more growth. But dangit it I have so much to do already in life . . . y'know?

How strict are you ladies with your hair growth/care regiment?

Not really that strict....I wash on wednesdays and sundays and everyday I moisturise in the morning and before bed. Every morning I juice a 500g bag of carrots and one apple which has worked wonders for both hair and skin. Plus the vits and I try to eat well too. This is sort of wrapped around my daily life stuff so it doesnt feel like I am going out of my way to get it done...going well so far in terms of growth. I am actually taking out my braids tomorrow and redoing them again so I cant wait to see the progress.

WELCOME BACK GLIB! Compared to many others on this board, I am a slacker. I wash my hair every 7-10 days, rinsing about every third. I cut back on dusting to every three months because I was getting too scissor happy. Water is my primary moisturizer which I follow up with Garnier Curls Leave In, then coconut oil once daily. Most nights I remember to tie my hair up. I deep condition once a month on average right now.

My hair is extremely flaky. It changes almost weekly, it seems. It can never make up it's mind about what it wants or needs. :nono: I have to be careful or dryness can creep up on my and hit like a hurricane. My hair dictates my regimen, not the other way around. I know who's boss in this relationship.:whip:

I'll do the same thing every day for a couple of months then something derails me (usually it's PJ related ) that's why I created my count down ticker, I'm hopeful that it will keep me on track. I know what works for my hair and I've seen my hair respond I just need to be CONSISTENT. :wallbash:

That is how I am. It took me a while to learn my hair, and know what it needs and when it needs it.

Well it all depends on what's going on in my life for me. Last year was such a bad hair year because I was so busy with med school and a new boyfriend that I completely neglected my hair. Now that I have more time as a third year, I am all about being consistent with my haircare. My regimen might change as I learn how my hair responds but I think that whatever you pay attention to thrives including your body, skin, nails, and hair. I don't think you have to do the exact same thing each time as long as you are paying attention to your hair and its needs, it will respond!

How strict am I?

Lemme think of it this way... If i am the parent, and my hair are my kids... then they are the type of kids that goes to church, say yes/no maam/sir and get straight A's :) ... but curse, skip school, drink and party past curfew :( . That said... I think that for the most part, I have strict practices that I follow that yield good results... but I also have some areas in my hair care that I am failing-not doing as well as i should- at and am seeing the consequences.... so... I'm right at 50/50... (i'm the type of "parent" that will put my "kids" on punishment {a new regimen} and will forget about it in a couple of days... and the kids know it.... and they run amuck:nono:)

I to answer the question... I guess I'm not as strict as I should be...:ohwell:

edit: I guess thats why i love it here... LHCF is like my hairs "Dr Phil" cause yall "tells it likes it isss."

I am strict when it comes to the products I use, but since the weather been warm/hot and I did my touch-up I've been wearing my hair down more often instead of in my bun. Now that fall is here I'll be wearing my bun more frequently again.. Fall/Winter(bun); Spring/Summer(hair down)

Same here:yep:

I am fairly strict with my regime. I have a plan that works using products that work, and I rarely deviate. So far, it's going well, so there is every need to contiue and no need to change - for now.

I guess I'm fairly consistent with my washes, DCs ad protective styling. Wash every three days and DC w/heat. Wear protective styles 99% of the time. Got a goal to reach:yep:!

I'm pretty strict with mine. Last month I was slacking to enjoy my growth, but I'm back on track now. D/C weekly, moisturize daily & bun all the time. It's easy to stay strict, since my reggie is pretty simple.

I'm pretty strict :whip: My steps don't change (pre poo, wash, DC, rollerset) but I will alternate products based on what my hair needs.

I think I'm pretty strict as far as the procedures. There are some days though, when I slack. I was really strict when I started my regimen, so now it's a habit.

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: Too funny!

I don't have a strict regimen. Shoot, I don't think I have a real regimen at all. It's taken a year, but I've found my staples. I listen to what my hair needs - moisture or protein - and give it what it wants. I style my hair on a whim. I relax when I feel like I need a relaxer. Usually every 8-10 weeks, but I don't really keep track. I style my hair how I want to on a whim, depending on what I feel like that day. As long as I stick to the basics (moisture-protein balance), my hair and I get along just fine.

My regimen is pretty simple. I only comb/detangle once every 2 weeks, I do henna once/week, oil rinse a few times a week and everything else is on an as needed basis.

Not very. My 'regimen' is like a basis for what I do. Like the non-negotiables are washing rollersetting and conditioning weekly. But I generally do what I feel like doing and how much time I need to do it.

My hair regimen is so simple that I don't think I could even be strict with it. I just wash and condition weekly. Occasionally moisturize a couple of days before the wash. Other than that, I just roll my hair nightly and slap some serum or oil on it to seal in moisture. I am strict with the washing because I work out.

Not at all:nono:! I am starting a personal 6 month challenge in the morning where I am going to see if giving this haircare thang 1,000% will yield GREAT results!!!!

I guess you can say I'm strict with it. Its all become so routine now. Plus, I haven't achieved enough length yet to loose focus on the growth.:nono: I can't wait until "I Can" afford to skip parts of my regimen and just enjoy a long, healthy nice head of hair!:drunk:

I guess I'm not so strict, I do the basics for my hair. Sometimes I just throw my hair up in a bun when I don't feel like dealing with it. The key for me is consistancy and low manipulation. :yep:

I'm strict with moisturizing daily, Dc weekly, and protective styling. But as far as eating well and scalp mssages, I have been slacking big time but I know if I was strict with them my hair would be in better condition.

I was slacking. I can't remember the last time i Dc'ed. My problem spot is back with a vengance. I'm working on it though. I'm back to baggying every nite. Hennaing weekly and doing other herbal treatments. I co-wash daily and Shampoo/condition 1-2 times a week. I have to finish some meds before i can take more vitamins.

I'm not strict but when I find something that works I begin to make it into a lifestyle change. I use to wash my hair once every two weeks. Now I condition wash my hair almost daily and have since December 2006.
