How Often Do You Use Your Plastic Cap???

Sorry if this has been addressed. Didn't find anything in the "search." But I've always wondered how many times you are suppose to use these. I definitely use mine more than once and that number can easily double if I need to make a trip to the BSS and it quadrupled when I was in college. Even after a good wash, do you think some kind of bacteria grows in them? With my damaged hair the last thing I need is a bacterial infection of the scalp!!! LOL!

By the way, I noticed that the plactic caps I buy at the BSS are inferior to Sally's...guess that's why they cost more.

Up to 1 to 2 times before I throw it out. I will usually run hot water in it and dry it with a towel.

I only use em once not saying this is what u should do . In fact im gonna start to recycle em. I just use em for deep conditioners under the dryer so it shouldnt be bad

THe only time i throw one away is right after a 3-hour Henna treatment. Henna gets it so messy and gross it's not worth saving. Otherwise, the plastic caps that I baggy in or take a shower in......... i keep for as long as the elastic takes tight.

On the other hand, if I just use it as a shower cap, I'll use it for a month before dumping it.

Those Sally's caps are great! They're of excellent quality, and if you have the card, you can get a 100-pack for $5-6 bucks.

I only use a cap once if used for a heated deep conditioning (too messy to rinse out) or a twice times for my version of an entire-head-baggie (under my instant weave.

I bought 20 caps for 97 cents at Walmart - so I'm not afraid to just use a new one!

It depends. I use the baggie when I do touch ups and color so I definitely throw those bags away.

I will re-use them until they start getting yucky looking. If I use them just for conditioning my hair, I can go 6-10 times. When I use them for henna treatments I will only re-use them if no henna/indigo/amla paste gets on them, but that is rare.

I use the Plastic shower caps from Sally's for my hair treatments and the quality is excellent. I buy the cute shower caps from Sephora when I want to use it for showering only. I buy like, 5 of them at one time. I know, I know... I am extravagant!

I voted 2 to five cause I recycle . After the elastic is gone after 2 used I use it to baggie my pony I have a stash of like 3 in the closet I alternate and when a new one goes in an old one goes out. But make no mistake I will use a grocery bag in a minute if I needed to but I buy the bags in bulk so I rarely do these days.

Hmm... I usually just use each once for deep conditioning, henna treatments or when I relax in sections. I buy them in large quantities at Sally's and never run out. If I used one for the shower or for silk wraps, then I'd consider reusing it.

Same here. I use mine 1x also. I have a nice shower cap from Sally's that I re-use for about a month or so for covering my hair while showering.

It's like a cycle; I have the one I use for showering, but then mid week when I pre-poo or henna, I use it for that and then throw it away. Then I get out another one for the DC; then I start fresh with another one for showering, and then it repeats!

I, too, buy the pack of 100 from Sally's with my card!

I recycle big time. Since I only use the caps for pre-pooing or deep conditioning, I just rinse them out and then hang them up to dry for another time. I'll use one until it gets a hole in. My record so far is 6 weeks.

Probably way to long. I am a tree hugging hippy at heart. RECYCLE, REDUCE, REUSE. I do rinse the things. Usually once it get a hole in it I replace it.

I've reused them before after DCING. Usually because I couldn't find another one in my room. It doesn't hurt anything though.
