Every time I relax so that's about every 3 months. I take it as soon as I get out of the shower because that's how I started.

I used to do them often (which, looking back, was ridiculous) but now I barely take them. Seems to me like my hair looks the same length each time so personally I don't see the need to update biweekly or even monthly. I don't even have a schedule anymore:nono: Funny thing is, I barely even take hair pics at all now:ohwell:

I do my comparison or length checks by my relaxer. In my fotki, i show length and progress at 10 weeks, 12 weeks, & 16 weeks relaxer results. I do it that way because the best way to show the length is when my hair is bone straight.

Its harder to do comparison shots in between because i stretch and my NG will have shrinkage and thus not a true length check.

I'm doing my own Mega Tek challenge and since folks are gettin massive growth at 2 weeks, i'll track my comparison shots by the month in a seperate folder.

At first, I took them every month for 13 months. I got discouraged when I didn't see the growth that I wanted every month, so now I do comparison shots every 2-3 months.

I am going to be taking pictures every other month. So I do believe I will see a difference. Sheesh from Janurary to March I saw a nice difference so May 1, 2009 isn't coming soon enough. :D

so far, i've done them every month... but not for any real purpose. i've just started my hair album. my starting pics were taken in january. i took photos of a roller set result in feb. and i went to the salon just yesterday, which counts as a length check for march. i'm getting a trim and will probably take photos again. and probably won't take any pictures after that until my next touch up in june... or unless i try something new or make a drastic change.

I just BC, so I want to do them every month....but that's just for me. I want to see incremental progress and, though I "think" my hair grows fast - around 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch per month WITHOUT a growth aid - I need to prove that by what I can see over time. I recall my hair growing faster without a relaxer, but it might just have been that I retained better with no heat....probably so! lol

Anyway, I am taking photos every month until I figure out how fast I grow...not really to see progress....

I've been thinking about this....I think I will do it every four months...if I am too disappointed then I May cut back to twice a year

I started my HHJ in October, so I still consider myself to be "green", so I started taking monthly pics. But I can see where this can be discouraging (Although my first monthy MT shot had a chick happier than a mugggggg....MT works!!!). I am going to discipline myself to take them every three months at minimum now so that I may be encouraged by my growth.

Once a month.

Hate to say this but......some people won't believe you started from point A and grew it to point B then chopped to point C then grew it out again to point A without photo proof (especially when you transition from "texlaxed" to natural and your natural hair kindof sorta looks the same because those relaxed ends hanging on.)

I used to take a whole bunch of monthly photos for the first couple years because of the above but have cut it down to a select handful of pics of growth and maybe a few different hair styles (sometimes these don't even make it to my album anymore but I do whip them out in thread asking for a style/look).

I've been taking progress pics every month, but I want to do three month comparisons.
Since incorporating growth aides in my regimen, I've been trying to take pics frequently.

I take pictures often... I used to do comparison shots after every relaxer (~19 weeks) but now that I am transitioning, my aim is to do new growth comparisons every 7-8 weeks.

I take my comparison pictures usually once or twice a year. That's when I am doing my retouches, trims, etc....

Anything else, make me keep my hands in my hair...:lachen:

I take them every 3-4 weeks, but that's only because my goal right now is growth. It helps me stay on task with my protective styling and no heat goals for this year. By seeing my hair growth, it keeps me motivated to keep doing the same things.

I really never gave it much thought, because I really never paid attention to my hair. I was constantly asked by Verifen Complex to send some in, and I told them I really don’t have any comparison shots, but I’ll send a few in. They kept asking for more.

They haven’t asked lately since I sent in three sets of photos a few years ago, but I wouldn’t call them comparison shots. I just never took any.

I do it about once every 1-1/2 years now, just to monitor my own progress. I had a serious trim--about 4 inches removed--last month, so I guess it’s time for me to take at least two photos.

I just figured that I do an update every 4-6 months or so. I'm trying to stretch my relaxers so I figure that would be the best time to do an update.

I'm currently 6 wks post and I'm trying to make it to 20wks hopefully longer.

I'm taking monthly shots to stay motivated. I took my first picture on Feb 6 and the second on Mar 14 and I can see a difference. For years, I thought my hair grew slow, but now that I've found this site, I realize that my hair grows at a pretty good pace. I just have to work on retaining the growth I get.

I still think my hair grows slow - i try to do my shots whenever there is a change -like i used to take pics after each trim or treatment. now that i dont trim i take pics when i get my BKT - approx every 5 or so months. Its the only thing that will make my hair super straight so my greedy butt can claim the most length. i saw a decent diff when i waited 7 months, but this time i only waited 5 - it was ok. i have to upload pics.

I've yet to do one.
I have a couple of pics I put side by side in PP, but I really don't even know the dates of those.
I took some good flat ironed and shrunken pics last year, so I will take more this month and do a legit comparison.

Once a quarter... once a season... every three months. My schedule is April, July, October, January. Once I reach my goal I'm probably going to cut back to once every 6 months (if that).

Last year it was once every 3m. This year, it will be 2x a year (Aug when my TFG challenge is over and at the end of the year).
