In a year how many inches does your hair grow? Im talking about growth, not retention. The average is 6 inches, but many of us get more or less than the average. My hair only grows about 4 inches each year. I've dyed my hair 2 years in a row for the sole purpose of tracking growth. So far this year I have grown a little over an inch.

Fast growers share your tips, vitamins, growth aids, etc. Slow growers take notes. I want 6 inches or more this year. Dont you?

Yes, it would be nice to have more!

I get about 3 inches in a year. My hair grows about 1/4 of an inch each month. Talk about SLOW. I do take vitamins and supplements.

I think I could benefit from frequent scalp messages which is what I know a lot of people do to encourage growth.

I will be in protective style mode (twists and braids) for the rest of the year. Trying to see if I can make APL for the first time EVER. I'm at SL which is where i was at the longest point during my relaxed days before I would cut it. I am SL stretched as a natural by the way. Dang shrinkage lol...

My last relaxer was Feb 10, 2013 and at the 1 year mark I had 5 inches of natural hair. (I measured).

I've increased my water intake to 100 oz a day and this increase my growth. I measured my hair March 31 and I'm at 6 -6.5 inches

6-7 inches. Without vitamins. With hair vitamins I have gotten 1 inch a month. Hair vitamins: Viviscal, marine collagen, msm, biotin, etc.

5" to 5.5" on my nape and front and 6" to 6.5" on my crown. Hopefully when I get these new hair vitamins, I can grow a bit more but I won't get my hopes up :(
I don't mind my growth rate too much though; makes me appreciate the journey more :)

I am around 6 inches a year. Sometimes a little more.

According to the other thread http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=723559 we should all be getting at least 12 inches a year. Or even 20 inches in some cases a year.

Oh, and I do eat healthy, exercise 5 days a week, and drink plenty of water (around 100 ounces a day).

I've just learned to enjoy the journey and stop listening to forums, the internet, etc. If I don't, I would be truly discouraged.

Transitioning has confirmed my suspicions of being a slow grower. I seem to get between 4" to 4.5" a year.

About 6. I was bald in some patches in the back of my head at this same time last year so measured those areas the other day and they are just right at 6 inches long.

Last year I grew about 4.5 inches, maybe 5 inches. I've only grown about an inch so far this year. With that rate, I should grow about 4 inches this year.

Pffft! It's probably grown about 2 inches this year! smh. I am now probably at three average.

I started measuring monthly in June/July and I'm measuring about 1/2 inch a month. I will measure every month next year to get a full picture of my monthly growth rate.
