i'd say probably 2.5 years more for me. which would have made 5 years in total. my hair better be perfect by Jan 1st 2010.

ETA: i added a poll.

Hopefully 6 more months. I just wanna make BSL and I'll be good. BSL seems like the perfect length to me. Anything more would be too much for me to manipulate. I already have a hard enough time cuz I rollerset weekly and my hair is hella thick.:)

I started my hair journedy, quest for long, healthy hair, almost a year ago. I would say to get my hair waist length, if my anogen cycle allows me to reach that length, my journey will continue for another 2 years from now. Once I reach that length, I will probably cut it to BSL. I want to grow to waist length to prove it to myself that I and black women can grow healthy hair just as long as our white, asian, latina, and indian sistas can. :D

I'm thinking one more year. I want full classic length. Then I'll trim to even things up.

Unless I change my goal again. Maybe to knee length...:look:

No later than Dec 08, after that it will just be upkeep.

Same here......... I hope to end my journey Dec 08 at the latest. By that time I should (hopefully) be blunt Tailbone Length.

After that, it will be ONLY upkeep (ie, protective styles, moisturizing, one multivitamin......... no growth aids and definitely not the whole slew of vitamins i take now). I also hope to be pregnant by then (or at the very least TTC) and so all the growth aids and vitamins would be off limits anyway.

I asked this question a while back and people kinda scolded me and said "My journey will NEVER end, it's a lifestyle!!" yaddi yah!:lachen: I was like what's eating yall?! Kind of made me feel bad that they were poking to the fact that I was a quiter.

Anyways  , I give myself about 2 years to be at WSL. After that, I am going to just start wearing it out and do it's thing. Of course I won't be flat ironing everyday and I will DC once a week, etc, I will just wear it out and keep it trimmed. The healthy part, I will keep doing, just the protective growig out thing is not fun and I would be a liar to said I will do this forever.

When I get past BSL and have consistent regimen. I guess that would be 1 1/2 years from now, then just upkeep and an eventual blunt cut.

ETA: Maybe 2 years.

I think it is ongoing for me. I don't really have specific length goals. I am just started to feel at one with my hair after years of dismissing it with braid extension use. Now that I actually feel that my hair is a part of me and after I get back to APL (I had that a few years ago :( before a matted weave incident ) I will go onto step 2 - what ever that will be.

I have NO IDEA how long it will take me to get to APL. I am just wishing and waiting. :)

I remember that.

I hope only another 2 years to brastrap. I should be a full shoulder by the end of this year so I hope to make apl by the end of next year then brastrap by then of 2009. If I don't make it by then, then my journey will keep going till I get to atleast bra-strap length. I won't stop taking vitamins and such just because they benefit more than just hair but once I reach my goal, I will relax. I really want my hair long enough to take a pic of my hair idol, go into a salon and actually get a star like makeover. Once I can go that, then I will be complete.

I am with you. I gave up on all the stuff I used to do. I got burned out. I don't even take supplements anymore. I guess that is why I don't really have a "journey".

I feel you on that. I don't really have a regimen either. I just let my hair do whatever. Wash and DC (if i remember to dc) once a week and leave it alone. I'm starting all over again though since I decided to bc and go natural. But to be honest even with all the care I gave my hair last year I saw very little progress. I wouldn't be surprised if had I not bced my hair would still be the same length. :ohwell: I haven't seen this much growth in a year since I was in HS.

GIRL! :yep:

I can't even look at a vitamin.

I was hoping it would be July of this year but it doesn't look like I am going to make it. I want to brastap length now I am looking at December of this year. If I don't make it I think I will stop trying and just keep my hair the length it currently is.

Now that I know how to properly care for my hair, it will be ongoing for me. I know I won't necessarily be on hair forums though. I will take the knowledge I have acquired here and apply it indefinitely.:D

At this rate, I don't even know. Maybe 3 or 4 more years. What's your final goal esoterica?
i want the entire back half of my hair to be at waist so i can cut it even. i'll have a few sprigs there by the end of the year but i know it's gonna be a long time before the rest catches up and gets to the thickness that i want.

thanks :) it's been 2 and a half years to get to BSL, so another 2.5 should be enough. after that i can't be bothered anymore.

I'd say a year and a half and I should be where I want to be. Where that is.....I don't know.

But I do know it will be much longer and healthy.

Hmmm:ohwell: ! Its kinda hard to say: i think maybe 1.5 - 2 yrs left for me: I figure it would put me at BSL. I wanna be able to put my hair in a high ponytail and it comes down to my neck (like the smile ->:weird: )

Until I reach BSL/Midback and my hair is at the thickness I desire. So I expect until June/July 08 but that is subject to change depending on how everything goes.

I think my goal will be reached by sometime between December 07 and June 08. My goal is bra strap which is midback for me since I'm short. I'll always take care of it but I probably won't obsess over length once I make it to bra strap when straightened. I don't really have goals for when it's natural lol.
