How long is long?

What do u consider long hair? To me, long hair is from the bottom of bra-strap and beyond. For some reason, the longer my hair gets the more my idea of what's long changes.

About an inch before bra strap and longer is what I consider long. Of course, this is skewed when it's your own hair.

Here are my definitions:

Kind-a long: shoulders
Long: bra strap
Real long: couple inches past bra strap
Real, real long: anything near waist length
Mortia long: butt length and longer

There was a thread about this recently. I consider long to be waist length or close to waist length and longer. For some reason the definition of "long" seems to differ when it comes to black women and other races. Take 2 women, one black, the other not, both with shoulder blade length hair. For some reason, the black woman's hair is getting SO LONG

, but the same doesn't get said about the other woman. Sorry, but to me that is just code for "long for a black girl."

Im from a small town with not many black ppl so I used to think shoulder length hair was long and never even saw any black women with longer hair than that unless they were mixed. Ive seen a few here in FL but mostly Ive seen them on this board, which is inspiration for me!

Just attaining shoulder length hair has been a milestone for me.

Armpit will be LONG for me....then *crossing fingers* hopefully brastrap will be like I hit the lottery....

I'm sorry! You just wait and watch. You will be saying the same thing. I guess others see deferently. It is like when a skinny person thinks that they look fat and they really don't to other people. Okay, I have hair anorexia...

I agree with ya- right now I don't feel it will be long until gets past the bra strap, but I suspect when it gets there I won't think it's long until it hits my waist and so on...

I ask myself this question all the time. Now that I am 1 1/2 inches from bra strap I am changing my goal to past bra strap. My definition of long is "healthy hair that passes shoulder blades." My goal, though is what I said above, way past bra strap.

Ditto! When I was shoulder length I would have thought my almost touching brastrap hair is long. But now when I look at it, it's all wrong! Not long at all!
