before you just feel like ripping those things out and running your hands through your OWN hair/scalp?:wallbash: I swear everytime i get braids in, I say "yeah this is going to last me a good 3 months!", and 2/3 weeks later i'm like OH GAWD THEY MUST COME OUT

i..must...resist...

I so feel you. I recently (past weekend) took my kinky twist out. I had them in for 5 weeks, which is loooong for me. Like you, normally at 2 wks, I'm done. But the convenience was absolutely great. I did redo them a couple rows at a time to keep them looking fresh (because I washed them often). I plan to braid my hair (or do the twist again) this weekend. This time I plan to leave them in for 6 weeks. I figure it's like stretching ... go a littel further each time to reach your goal (mine is 8 wks).

After a week I'm ready to be done with braids. :look: That's why I don't get expensive professional braids put in. It wouldn't be a good investment.

I am so feeling like this right now, mine have been in for 6wks so far but next week it's a wrap, out they come. I'll let my hair rest for 3wks but up they go for another 7wks. I'm kinda getting burnt out a lil on braids but this is my protective style until the end of the year, so I will just have to learn to deal with it:ohwell:.

I had my singles n for 6 weeks. Then I was ready to take them out. I just couldn't take it any more

I've had my singles in for 3 weeks and I'm ready to take them out!! I'm trying to last until the 10th!! We'll see!!

I'm the opposite. I get them in and I think I will only keep it for 8 weeks then 12 weeks later I'm like, hmm these have to come out "soon"...lol.

I can't seeem to last longer than 2 weeks most times...after that, I get restless, then I start creating excuses for why they must come out pronto:lachen:

last year, i was able to keep them in for 3 months without even missing my hair! in fact, i was planning to braid up for a further 12+ months. when i took them down, i feel back in love with my hair, so i didn't get another set until about 2.5 weeks ago. now it's such a struggle to keep these braids in. i've been wanting these braids out since the 2nd day i put them in. regardless, i'm keeping them in for 3 months .

op, i think you should just remind yourself of the health benefits and length retention these braids will give you. it also helps me to remember how i get bored with daily styling and frustrated with tangles etc.

longest i went was 3 weeks and that was pushing it. I dont like wearing fake hair. it feels weird. i can keep twists in on my natural hair for a while.the key to me keeping them in for a while is to just retwist every week so they dont get too fuzzy.

Right about now. Have had them sinc Feb. Im ready to take them out. I keep taking them out and retwisting. I have one more week lawd help me.

Im so with you on that! Everytime i get braids, i plan to keep them in at least 3 months! That way, i figure, im getting my moneys worth AND all the hours it took to sit and suffer thru that. BUT..... by the 4th week i cant tolerate it anymore. I miss the feel of my own hair so much. Those braids are usually out by week 5! :lachen:Shameful!!!!
