HELLO IM NEW TO THIS JUST WONDERING WHY DO YOU STRETCH WHATEVER HAPPEN TO EVERY 6 WEEKS? PLEASE FEEL ME IN. THANKS

Some people stretch to prevent double processing and to give hair a break from relaxers. Some believe that they get better growth while stretching.

I don't stretch and I have no desire to because I don't have time to deal with it. But, my hair has been doing very well and I know it is because I prepare my hair for touchups with my bi-weekly deep conditions and treatment. I don't believe that you have to stretch to reach your goals, but I admire those that can do it. I just can't (unless I weave or braid it up). :ohwell:

Ok I said I wouldnt stretch as long as I did before which was 12 weeks but Im still handing on. I got braids beginning of January and Im too lazy to take them out.

The longest the I have ever streched was 15 months.

This is funny because my sis told me that she believes I stretch my relaxers for a year because I seem to transition every year for a year lol. When I was relaxing regularly I used to stretch 6 months.

I stretch for 16wks, but I am now going for a 5month stretch, so when I get to the end date of my APL stretch I can just have freshly relaxed hair to see the length. If all goes well I will continue to stretch for 5months and only relax 2x's a year.

I was just thinking about my stretch.
I've stretched for longer periods of time, but now that I am consistently counting, It's on my mind
I plan to stretch until Apr 16th which will take me to 16 weeks. With 8 weeks and 3 days so far,

It works for me because of the weird phase my hair is at right now, with lots of thinness in the middle and the right side.
I want a nice full head of hair and stretching allows me to keep from overprocessing and making sure that I have enough new growth to do a good touch up.
