How does one grow Natural Hair this long?

I thought hair like Sidney's doesn't break like African hair because moisture flows down the hair shaft easier, hence the shine and length.

I can tell you this isn't true. I would say that the 4a part of my crown breaks while the 3c doesn't really break but more easily rips apart if it is tangled.

My hair is longer than that. I just let it out very rarely and it grows. I usually keep it in twists that I style. Her hair is pretty.

OT: WOW!!! I went to see "Grindhouse" yesterday (the Tarantino film), and she's in it. Her hair is the most gorgeous head of naptural hair that I've ever seen. There's even a scene in the movie where Kurt Russell comments on how beautiful it is. And trust me, when you see the film, you'll come away with the notion that Sydney herself knows how beautiful her hair is, too! I was a stan when I left the theater last night.

I saw Grindhouse last month and I'm still in love with her SP's hair. Based on what I can tell she is either classic length or mid thigh. When I reach that length this is how I will wear it. I would say her hair alone stole the movie. She should be in more films. My goodness:

Now that's some hair...good hair! I googled her for hair updates and she has a fb page. I wonder what hair type she is...

lol at some of the comments on the first page of this thread....type 3 hair doesn't break, seriously???.....

i would have thought they knew better on here in 2007, but from what i've heard there are lots more naturals now than there were then.

i think anyone's hair can get like that with proper moisture..some years of patience ad constant protective styling. i can only imagine her detangling sessions...ouch

I think that person was just saying they never saw a type 4 w/hair this long; and type 3 hair doesn't break as easy as and or easier to handle than type 4 hair. People still say this today on the board, in fact, a post was just started today on the same topic ("type 3 pretty hair-why relax"I). The two hair types are very different. I have dealt with both- as I used to be that person who did everyones hair as a kid and in college. It was not meant to be offensive. That's not really what this thread was about though.
