How did you feel when you found out you could grow your hair long?

It was a great feeling when I discovered that my hair could grow to longer lengths than I imagined. After being color treated for almost a year and seeing the line of demarcation between my natural hair color and my color treated hair I see that my hair grows a lot more than I thought it could during the course of a year. Now I know I can reach my lenth goals as long as I avoid trimming more than necessary.

It feels strange. It feels like anything is possible. I think I should have known this all along, but I'm glad to know it now. My inner child is very happy! She wants to feel long hair!!

I couldnt wait to start I was in Egypt when I found out about this website there was a sister there who told me about it and must I say her hair is beautiful she is a natural she went from the BC to BSL in like 2yrs masha Allah, she maybe longer now. Also when I seen the women on here that really encourage me that black women can grow long hair if they really want to.
So in conclusion I WAS HAPPY

Actually I never thought I couldn't. My hair had gone from long to short and so forth...so I had no reason to think it couldn't be long.

I just never thought about it really. I never had it effortlessly like some others seemed to. I also really like short punky cuts and blue-black dyed hair. I'm getting over it though and trying to grow my hair out natural and see how long it can get while being properly maintained. If I start feening for a short punk hair cut I'll buy a lace wig lol...

At first I had doubt. I was like yea right, my hair is not going to get any longer but I did everything the ladies on here said to do. Then I started seeing progress and once I reached APL, that's when I really started getting excited. NOW, I"m like WHAT!!!!!!! I can't believe this. My hair has never eva been this long NEVA. I"m still in awe when I look at my hair. I still can't believe it but I am sooo happy I feel so grateful because I have always wanted long hair and thanks to this board. I"m on my way

ETA: Shoot, once my hair started growing, I started getting concerned with keeping the lenght. I thought my hair was going to fall out or something. I"m no longer terrified. I now know this hair is here to stay As long as I take care of it of course!

Still shoulder length but a lot thicker! i had to chop some progress because of breakage. I wanna make APL in March '09.

I felt enlightened and inspired. It was like a mini-epiphany, silly as it may sound, and then I got motivated and got moving! Thanks to all of you ladies for the inspiration to make improvements in so many parts of my life, not just my hair!
