There was a lady with LOOOOOOONG hair (it was silkened) getting her hair "finger styled" at Miss Jessie's with Curly pudding which is pretty much a wash n' go, raking the pudding through the hair. I couldn't help to wonder "how are they going to dry all of that hair????" The positioned her hair so that it fell over both her shoulders in the front rather than all towards the back. They sat her under the dryer then took a towel and draped it over the drier dome. I guess the theory is that the towel hanging off the sides of the drier created a barrier and retained within the walls of the towel so that the hot air was able to travel downward and reach the length of the hair. Hope that made sense.

So if any of you long haired ladies want to try this at home, let us know how it works!

There's a product that claims to cut drying time by keeping the air/heat concentrated on your hair.http://www.keyhair.com/index.html

Hmmm, the only thing with this is that looks like it will only work for hair that has been roller set or that is styled "up"rather than the length of the hair hanging down and out. But it's still a cool concept! Anything to get us from under the dryer faster! (no matter how crazy we look, lol)

What an interesting concept. That product that you posted Bree was...well...even more interesting. Funny painting in the website.

YUP. which is why I can't order it. too bad b/c i really HATE the amount of time it takes me to dry my hair.

The dominician salon where I get touchups and the occasionally wash n go does that -- drape a towel over the hood dryer . . .

:yep: I wondered what that was all about, now I know! Thanks SO1913!

When I was young, I have seen my mother doing so (putting a towel on the sides and at the back of the dryer) to dry rollersets which were too big to enter completely under the hood. As far as I remember, there were 2 or 3 young ladies and 1 young girl who were drying that way. But I have not seen such arrangment for a long time. Maybe I should think about for myself.

I do this to speed my drying time, especially in the very back where it always take forever (I think the air doesn't blow as strong on that part). Anyhow, I create a dome with the towel to keep the hot air in the hood; my only warning is that it gets VERY, VERY hot. I wear hardly any clothes and drink cold beverages to try to keep myself cool under there but I usually can not keep the towel on the entire time.

I do it with the Pibbs ( don't close the lid and with my head outside the dryer). :yep: It dries the roots (the part that makes you cold) without a lot of manipulation or time.

Sareca -so, you dry your wash n go's with your Pibbs lid up and a towel over the drier? I'm a little confused.

Does the towel block the vent?
