Hide Your Hair Til April Fools 2007 Challenge

Angie why didn't you just use an old picture like the most recent one you had before your challenges started as a beginning pic? That's what everyone else is doing...

You know what girl, I don't know what I was thinking. I totally forgot I joined this challenge. I posted my hair pics at another hair board also, so I'm pretty sure that's bad. Maybe I will get the hang of it next time.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure my hair will still look the same by april:lol: I don't think I will have much growth, but maybe I will just hide my hair till june.

i'll jump on the bandwagon, since i'm starting the baggy method today. i'll go until May though, since i'm a month late. :D

Okay... so I know I'm a month late, but I've been caring for a newborn (check the siggy):babyg:.

I've been hiding my hair since the day she was born...(didn't get a chance to get it braided before she came). I was wearing a scarf when I went into labor. My only pass was the week of the 22nd because we both had doctor's appointments and I was bound and determined to look half-way decent!

I just got my hair braided last Friday (kinky twists), so I'll keep these in until April Fools. This way I'll be spared from watching my post-partum shedding over the next 2 months.

I joined in late but so far so good :). I rock a long down to my butt ponytail on the weekends for the playful yet sexy look. It's by Sensationnel and I love it and I have a fall (thanks to Kinikakes who looks awesome in her falls and inspired me to try one for the first time, thanks girl!!!) that I'm going to try this weekend but to work I've been wearing simple buns. I have some tracks that I just pin going around my hair everyday. I've been doing the baggy method for 2 weeks and I've already seen some great results. I've been wearing a baggy under all of my protective styles and so far so good. I also tried the coconut milk and lime mixture which has left my har shiny and straight to smooth out my hair as I am just about 3 months post relaxer.

I'm getting tree braids next weekend as my planned trip to ATL to get them didn't happen this past weekend.

Looking forward to seeing my hair in April :).

Still in braids....doin very well. i just washed and conditioned them applied lenzi's request to my scalp...put my braids up in a bun to air dry. i'm feeling great...and my hair and scalp is too!

Still wearing my weave!!!!! These tracks are itching my back and shedding like crazy. I'm so ready to take them out. I already have some new growth but just a little. I just made an appointment to get some kinky twists next tuesday. I can't wait!!! I love not having anything itching my back!!

Late! But count me in! I will be past April Fools cuz the baby is due
May 31. I had started hiding my hair anyway cuz I was tired of dealing with it. :)

oh i didnt know we had to give updates :look: ,well so far im doing good ,been bunning all day everyday ,but im so tired of it ,i want a change ,eventhough i dont like fake hair ,i think im going to have to purchase some phony ponies cause i cant take the bunning anymore.
I also dont think i will reach my goal (APL) :perplexed ,but hopefully i will achieve some fullness to make my seethrough mess look decent.
Hope you ladies are doing better ,just hang in there:p

Still hanging!! I relaxed this past MOnday and it looks like I gained another inch after 7 weeks. I estimate that I need another 1.5-2 inches to claim the prize:D I'm keeping my hair in a bun or French roll.

Hi, another hider checking in!

I'm still hiding my hair under a fall, my hair is in cornrows, and I moisturize and seal them twice a day. I will probably take them down, clarify and deep condition this weekend. Only 7 weeks left!

i'm still wearing my boring protective styles i.ie. buns and what not!!! my roots are like a forest, under this relaxed hair and my strands are looking thinner which i really hate. i plan to keep hiding my hair for another two months before relaxing

Next week we'll be half way there! I'm still bunning! I was kinda pissed off @ my boss yesterday because he made a reference to my "kitchen" and tried to laugh about it. I'm not the type of person who brags about things but that pissed me off so my reply was "So what? At least the rest of it is long!", and I pointed to a spot on my back. He said "Oh well, ..." I couldn't hear the rest because he mumbled, but it goes to show you that it shut him up real good since I know that wife of his is trying to grow her hair out too. (I don't like her either) I was almost tempted to wear it out today just to really shut him up, but I think I'll hold out until April!

OT: Hair Peace, congrats on the new baby!

Thanks Nelli! It will be interesting to see what kind of hair she ends up with. I'm 4a/b and Daddy is 3a. Her hair is currently straight, but curls when you wet it. We'll see!?!

Next week will be the end of month two!! ONE MORE LEFT!! We have a warm front moving through Louisville this week, and I'm SOOO tempted to wear my hair out, and feel it blow in the wind. The weather will be slightly warm too. I'm glad we only have one month left because I don't know how much longer I can do this now that it's warming up a little.

Okay so I got my kinky twists in. I'll have to put some pics in my album. I'm kinda pissed because the wench put these spaced out kinky twists in the back. she started them like cornrows!     Then she cut them all one length. no layers. so it looks bulky. and all one length does not look right on my face!    I'm irritated! But the front is cute!

i miss my hair... :(

but i will admit Chicoro's baggie method is working pretty well for me. (i did swap out the Vaseline for my trusted Wild Growth Hair Oil... i just couldn't get over the thought of putting petroleum on my head... :perplexed ) i co-wash my hair 2x a week since i'm working out so much, but i do it with my hair in 6 big braids so detangling is a breeze. i didn't spend that much time on my hair anyway in the mornings, but now i don't have to do anything but slap on the phony pony and wrap it up in a bun. and my hair did feel good and extra-moisturized on Valentine's Day... so i'm assuming this is working pretty well.

but April is a long way off... and i gotta push until May!

so yea um I failed. Problem is/was that my hair wasn't doing too well from brushing it back into a bun. So I am keeping it simple and leaving my curls alone. No brushing into a bun or french braid (how I was wearing my hair for this challenge). So good luck ladies, hang in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doing fine over here. I'm wearing clip-in extensions today, pulled back with a claw clip. I'm probably going to relax on Sunday, so I'll get to see my growth then. I should be just at shoulder length now, YAY!:D

Of course, with my hair straight, I'll be much more tempted to wear it out:look:, but I'll hold on for one more month.

I'm still hanging in there. I got my hair flat ironed and trimmed yesterday. But I'm back to covering it up today. I have on a half wig. My hair's doing nicely though. The stylist said I'm taking good care of it. :)

i'm hanging in as well:D i will washed my hair on fri, airdry ,then retwist on sat. they usually last about 3-4 weeks.
