So I did a puff on her hair like I did to mine. Her hair is a lil longer than mine. She was transitioning longer than me. She has super thick black hair. I am loving her waves and i just had to show off. She cowashed with a condtioner for heat protection. It's hot here in TX. and then I used KC knot today and KCCC and some IC gel to achieve this look. Her waves are super defined and I can only dream mine look like this someday. What do you think her hair type might be?

wow thats a really pretty puff, her waves look beautiful too, she looks like a 4 something to me, but dont quote me cause i'm not an expert. how long has she been transitioning for? Good job!

Her hair looks great! I have the KCCC and haven't used it yet, but her pics make me wanta use it. You did a good job. Has she always been natural? If not how long?

She cut off all her relaxed ends when she took her braids out a few weeks ago. I am not sure how long she was transtioning probably a year. I will have to ask her later. I think she is a 4 too. Maybe 4b/c. Not sure. She has some super defined coil that are so think and shiny. i love her hair.

I love her texture! And her hair looks healthy and thick. I love thick hair.

I'm not good at hair typing, sorry can't help you there.

HHG to both of you :-)

Her hair looks like mine so I'm thinking maybe a 4b/c. I can't wait until I can get a few inches of NG so I can rock my natural hair. Her puff is pretty. You did a great job.

She has gorgeous hair! It's yummy looking. And it doesn't help that her skin is poreless too. So I'm hatin.

And take that 's' off of the end of the word mine before I take out my ruler and smack your knuckles.

Beautiful hair. Y'all got the good hair in the family I see.

She looks like a solid 4b to me. 4b's have coils too, sometimes they're just not as obvious as other people's. And usually they don't really clump up together.

Can't wait for her to read this. I think sometimes she doesn't really like her hair. After we did this I was like WOW your waves are beautiful. So maybe I am a 4b too. I thought 4c was like not much coil and she has that in some place like me. ahh well 4b it is.

We were just joking about the bolded the other day. Yea well you know we try. we never knew our hair had so much coil to it. Our hair was either plaited in two cornrows or combed out into dry greased up afro puffs. so this is a pleasant surprise.

Wow her story is similar to mine, except I haven't cut my straight ends off yet. Thanks for the info and for sharing the pics. It definitely inspires me!!!:yep:

Her hair is so gorgeous! Can you please tell me how you do this style? I need it for future reference.:yep:

I'll do you one better and go get the video. I will get a different video. The people on youtube were pretty much doing there's on dry hair on old braid/twist outs but what we did was:

Wash our hair (co wash or pre poo poo whatever you want to do) I like to do it on wet hair because we are in the TWA stage and for me it's easier to work with wet. Or you can spritz your hair.

then after washing I left the hair soaking wet I parted hair in four sections and applied KC knot today and brushed through with a denman brush.

after that I went back through with a small(you really don't need alot) of KCCC and then brushed it through.

I then brushed her hair all back to define the coils.

then I brushed the hair up in the back and on the sides and brushed the top back. If the hair is soaking wet still I kinda just let it absorb some of the products at this point because i want to use a gel that adds shine and more defintion to the part that is slicked down. I don't want to water down the gel so I let the hair air dry a little.

When it is a little more dry I then add Fantasia IC gel(or Longaid gel which is what I used today. I love this gel it adds shine but the IC really does the holding I want) just to the top and back for hold and shine. Brush it with a soft boar bristle brush to help define waves some more.

then I put the headband on and wrap it around my neck twice and then slide it up and i slide it up as far back on the puff as I want.

Then I use the denman brush and pic the fro out and define the fro in the back more also to add shape. Our hair is uneven from self cuts. I pat down and shape uneven parts and VOILA!

I almost forgot I then roll a scarf up so it fits just around the fro and tie it down so that it also helps define the waves. And take it off before i leave the house but atleast leave it on for 5 minutes.

Here is a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1Yo9sjR1es

I do it pretty much how she does it except for what is noted different above. I like that she uses the scarf that is why I picked this video for you.

Also thanks everyone for the compliments!

That is some beautiful, thick, lush, healthy black cottony mass of wonderfulness in that pic. :yep:

She is in the 4 category a mixture of it.

here is a tip she posted on her page...I will be doing this as well I have scunci brand I will be getting the goody

CoilsKinksCurls (2 months ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply It is the Goody brand not the Scuncci. What I do is when I first get them I wet them and while they are wet I stretch them gently and then put them on the ends of a chair to keep them stretched while they dry, that makes them stretch good then i just use them as I usually do. Try that and see if that helps.

just something FYI.
