Eh...

That's just the thing... if you were to REALLY sit down and type people, it'd be WAY more options that that.

There are MILLIONS of us around. How do we really expect to define hair textures when we are all individuals? Unless we are twins, not many people have the exact same hairtype.

Even when we say type 4a... doesn't mean that we litterally have the same 4a across the board. From this chart, you'd run into the same problem. "Her 4F isn't MY 4F" - for example.

I like how this chart shows variety :yep:

However, I've come to the conclusion that hair typing is probably meant to be JUST A ROUGH GROUPING of hair types. There are too many different hairtypes to really chart.

For every type too! Type 1 hair has MANY variations too.

I think for my own hair sanity, I will just keep it to simple definitions based on curl diameter... because it was never meant to be all inclusive or truly define every little difference in texture. No chart can do that. There is too much variety.

Sorry for the long post... and please don't shoot me guys.

I know it's an old post but I agree. Just change millions to a BILLION. We are not a minority.

That's why I define my hair type by the group. I don't get too precise with it cuz it's way too much to get into but we can all agree I ain't nobody's type 2.
