Henna and Herbal Hair Care tips

I think the article is nice and timely, being Rahmadhan and all. It's easy and straightforward enough for newbies...however, indigo IS used in body art. Some women use it mixed w/ henna because it shows better on darker skin and gives a nice alternative otherwise. Just had to point out that some do use indigo.

Thanks , I was truly about to post a question asking about the henna that is sold on ebay. I saw 500g yesterday for less than 10.00.

I know I've read on here that some have purchased their henna from ebay so I wanted to check it out.

I received my order from you (Hennasooq) about 2 weeks ago and I've already used all of my henna (200g) and I wanted to stock up since I know that this will now be a regular routine for me now.

I am a person that is weary of bringing things into my home when I don't really know where they come from and I also believe sometimes things are too cheap to be good but I didn't want to miss out on a bargain either.

Any insights on the henna that is sold on ebay?

^^LOL...you don't expect her to encourage you to buy from others, esp off Ebay w/ it's built in quality issues, do you? Rather unfair to ask in this thread, but I'll answer

Some of the stuff there is very good and some great sellers. There's a lady who sells Rajasthan in large amouts 1/2lb-kilo. She's a body artist and sells to fellow artists. You have to be careful and really watching ratings/read feedback at Ebay. There's another lady who sells bulk of Shelly premade henna....don't get that, but she has some excellent henna accessories.

www.fromnaturewithlove.com offers henna starting @1lb for about $6.25. That's probably a better option for bulk henna than ebay and cheaper too. Quality is as good as anyone can guarantee, but it's FNWL and they are known for their quality in addition to their prices being high. In this case, it's lower than almost anybody, but I do trust them on these matters. YMMV

Good info - especially about the Alma, etc....

I really don't like the indian shops so---- I would love to order online.

After this batch is gone. I will.

Thanks for everyone's replies!! I really like getting into a good discussion.

Jamara, lol! I hear you (ie recommending people on ebay). But overall if someone is a good seller and has a good product then I am all for it. I think ebay is okay, but for me it didn't really workout as I would have liked. I have sold on ebay before and for a really LONG time but I closed the shop on ebay down because the fees are so high! It just wasn't beneficial to me and plus to go back and forth between ebay and my own shop. It got to be a lot.
There are some great sellers on ebay though for sure!

As for indigo though, yes it can be used for body art but not in this subject that we are speaking of (ie herbal hair care tips).
Indigo that is used for body art is not the same as indigo for hair. They are both different forms of indigo. For body art it is crystallized (you can see on the hennapage the difference there with the name and the big difference in price). Indigo for hair is a powder form of the leaves.

So therefore the indigo powder for hair is not body art quality, and as far as I am aware of the hair quality is not ever used on the body.
Is this what you meant?

MsDeevee, thanks! A good bargain is a good bargain. I'm always for a deal :)

I know Jamaraa... don't mean to be unfair or snarky but I really wanted to ask, no offense to anyone.

I have found most of the info on this site to be unbiased and open , so I was relying on that, yes I did think twice before I posted the question, as I said I was thinking of posting the question on my own in a separate thread but as I came in I saw the thread that Khadija started, so I went for it cause I'm not an undercover person.

I have no problem with the henna and indigo that I bought from Hennasooq , it was great, beautifully packaged and I found it incredibly easy to work with for my first time, which was a blessing. However, wouldn't I be foolish if I paid so much more for something if I can find the same quality at a better price and get 3-4x the quantity? That's why I asked, but if I don't trust other sources even though their price may be cheaper. I will continually order from Hennasooq.

As I typed that I see where my question may have been insensitive to a business owner. I'm sincerely sorry if you were offended Khadija.

So, I'm out...Thank you for your response.

ETA: I'm very familiar with ebay..my DH is a power seller and buyer on the site.

Henna Sooq I like your new US/Can format. It's like browsing Net-A-Porter....class!

msdevee I was just teasing ya. She to used to sell at Ebay, but see above. It would be funny if you went there and found a great deal and it was Henna Sooq as seller! ;)

This seller has killer apps for body art. She sells several sized nozzles. I just bought the 5 nozzle 2 bottle set. She's fast and reasonably priced. http://stores.ebay.com/KhairsCollection
