HELP: Relaxed to Natural and back to Relaxed

Hi ladies, I need your help.

I transitioned to naturals and I'm ready to relax again. I transitioned because I was loing my thickness. I know now that it was due to my technique and perking too much.

Anyhow, I've made up my mind and I'm not turning back. I want to relax my hair very soon...I'd texlax so that I could still do curly styles sometimes but at this point I don't care. I was thinking that I could brgin by texlaxing and stretching. Only texlaxing 4 times a year maybe...but I'm afraid of underprocessing my hair. I just have to do something. I'm tired of the same ole puff and styles take too long.

If you can please offer you suggestions/advice on how I should do this. I've never been natural and then relaxed on my own.

Would you reccommend a particular relaxer?

Thanks in advance

I know exactly what you are talking about. I went from bone straight relaxed to natural for 5 yrs, to texlaxed for two yrs, and now transitioning back to natural. The main reason why I texlaxed was for better manageable, and styling ease, but after a while I started wearing my hair only wavy or curly and I wasn't using much heat, so keeping up with touch ups were pointless. So I decided to go back to natural.

If you want to texlaxed I suggest using a lye relaxer because it usually doesn't make your hair bone straight as quickly as a no-lye would. If u want more texture then add some oil, and process your relaxer for an even shorter period of time. I used MBB in mild and touched up ever 12 to 14 weeks. HTH

Wow, thanks a ton ladies. This info is great.

Would it make sense for to apply the relaxer in twists? I saw a young lady on here in one of my searches who did this awhile ago.
