My healthy hair journey started May 2009!! I think my hair type is 4a and I am transitioning. What is my starting length? How long would it take me to be APL?

Welcome to the forum. You are neck length, hair taken care of and retained will yield you approx. 6 inches in 12 months. You will not know your true hair type until you have fully transitioned.

I would say you are SL, would prob. take you 9 - 12 months to get to APL....
