I am on a grow mission in 2010. I am supposed to skip my annual spring chop and grow my hair all year long, not cutting until 2011. I do well on this most days but today I am feeling the "choppong fever" and have the urge to cut about 5" off. I am right at WL when stretched now at the longest point (Ushaped hair :()

Why do I get this urge every spring????

You are suffering from Spring Fever! We love everything to be short in the spring...Hair, Skirts, Dresses, Work Days... Fight The Power!!!

Don't do it!!!
Put yourhair in braids or something to stop you from reaching for the scissors.
I want to see you reach hip length this year!

Here's the thing - I go through this vicious cycle because as soon as I cut it, I become obsessed with growing it again!!

Get a wig. Eat some ice cream. Distract deflect...lol. I know the feeling I hope the urge passes.

LOL - One year I had my hair in braids and when the fever struck, I decided to hack my hair myself, braids and all.

My husband is such an enabler!! He loves short hair and gave me an expensive pair of shears LOL!!

*SLAP*

Cut it out.

*SMACK*

Don't touch a hair on that head

*SLAP*

I'm serious.

*SMACK*

STICK TO THE PLAN!!!

I just cut my MBL(longest layer)hair. It's now between APL and BSL. The reason I did it was to get rid of these layers. Ugh I hate them with a passion!:wallbash:

No, you didn't cut the braids!

Just use those expensive shears to trim your daughter's hairs, but don't let it get near your own. :)

I second this BIanca I am going through this too, Put the urge in a box and put it in the closet. We will not cut we will not cut!!!! go steam with some juicy conditioner and then relax! :D I can't wait to steam again.

Bianca just try a new conditioner or something put your hair up. I hate hair in my face/back/neck when the weather breaks, I keep it up in a little Librarian bun and call it day. You just need something to distract you for a while.

I say do what makes you happy...you know all the do's and dont's now to grow it back. I'm sure you will make up your mind soon. I sometimes fear boredom when my hair gets past MBL....oooh im CUTTER too i understand:lachen:Hey you might be bored that's all wait a couple of days and then decide.:yep: BTW your hair is beautiful

I love your hair and follow some of your suggestion and techniques for growing. Don't cut it, try some buns/twist, buy some hair accessories. Keep it so you can teach us especially someone like me who is new natural:grin:

Ok if that did not work, you do what makes you happy:look:

I agree with putting it up. Also, I know good and well that when I cut my hair it always translates into more work for me. When I want bangs or layers or something like that, I bun or twist or something to put it away until the urge passes.

Don't give in to any wild impulses! If you really want to cut, that's one thing but don't do it and then be wanting to superglue it back on :lachen:. Okay, I'm joking but you know what I mean. lol!

I've been so busy I haven't had time to do any of my Indian powders or stem in 2-3 weeks!! I'm dying to put some Brahmi or Amla in my hair!!

I need to work on being more patient and less impulsive with my hair styles so I can get to hip length this year!!
