Hello!
I am new to you, but of course you ladies are not new to me! I just wanted to thank you all for unknowingly helping me through my hair transition. I have been a lurker for quite a while for a number of reasons, but what they hay i decided to come out. I am not a big blogger or forum person so i may not post too much after this but i really wanted to show you ladies how much your "hair wisdom" (lol) has helped me. Thank You!
Little bit about me
I have always had around shoulder length relaxed hair. I am a dancer for a college team, therefore my hair HAS to be straighten every saturday night for football games, and any other performance. So basically, I flat iron my hair every weekend. Yes it is hard on my hair and may stunt my growth process a bit, but i dont mind. I cut my hair to neck length after my crab year on the squad in fall 2007. I had blonde highlights so the crabbing plus the heat damage really killed my hair and i had to start over. I found out about LHCF in summer 2008 and decided to go natural. My last football game performance was yesterday so i have a little free time; here is my progress.
***I have ONE PROBLEM....the front of my hair (THE EDGES, AND SIDES) refuse to grow....any suggestions on how to tackle this problem....i wear protective styling everyday until i have to straighten my hair***
Crab Year Hair Fall 07 - Length of Cut (before LHCF) (curled)
August 2008 - November 2008
November 2008 Henna
January 2009 - Feb 09 Blow Dry
July 09 - Aug 09
Wet NG Pics
***How I did it****
Co-Washing
Ayurvedic Treatments
Added Oils (Amla, Vatika, EVOO, Castor, Jojoba, etc)
Protective Styling
Stopped flat-ironing everyday
Used different products you ladies have success with (aubrey organics, giovanni, tried bountless tresses as well as megatek for a hot second)
