I voted "No, I'm not tempted to try it" but after actually reading the thread, I am a little tempted to now. I'm not too sure though, I really like my ORS relaxer, I'll have to do more research on this...but from what I'm reading so far, it's pretty tempting

About 2 weeks ago I relaxed after a 6 month transition using this relaxer. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE it!!!:2inlove::2inlove::2inlove:
NO irritation or burns and my hair is soft and hydrated. :gorgeous:
Will use again and again.
Now the hairdresser who applied it...well :nono::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

I love the Phyto Relaxer!! I just don't like that price! $50 is a bit much, but I have fine hair and it left me with so much body that it doesn't compare to the other relaxers I have tried. When i get soem money, I will def buy this relaxer again, but untl then I'm sticking with ORS.

I just knew you'd be up in here CG, and there you are! I know you love yourself some Phyto:lachen:

Well I tried it about 3 weeks ago for the first time, I used index II, and while it wasn't love at first try, I have to give it props for:

1) not burning me even though I scratched
2) keeping my hair looking nice and full
3) my hair was so straight, I couldn't believe it

However, I have to agree with the price tag, if it wasn't for me stretching my relaxer and saving some money, there was no way I'd be able to afford it. But I definitely think it's worth the price, especially as I'm tenderheaded and cry at the sight of a comb. So I will be saving my money and doing it again in a few months, using a professional, my self-relaxing skills need some practice before I try it out on my own.

wow after all the rave reviews i seriously want to try this relaxer! right now im using pink no lye and its so horrible my last relaxer didnt even take! right now im like 5 weeks post and i swear my roots looks like ive been transitioning for a year! i seriously need a new relaxer and i think im going to try this one even tho i have mostly 4a/b hair with medium to fine strands its very coarse, thick and so resistant its matted and tangled from the underprocessed parts of my hair im wondering tho will i need 2 kits? i definitely plan to do a corrective relaxer before my hair gets any longer........

Hi Jah!!!

Of course it is your decision to use Phyto but I don't think that you will need 2 bottles as you are only going to place it on your ng :yep:. I self-relax with it and the key for me is to work it in and smooth continuously after applying to my entire ng.

ok...

Now that I am over the trauma of the scalp burn (note: when they tell you to wash your hair and don't put on a relaxer until 7 days after you last applied and washed out Boundless Tressess, LISTEN TO THEM!:wallbash:)...

Let me just say, I love this relaxer. I used it (Index II) for the first time three weeks ago. I love what it did to my hair. My hair is NEVER this soft and shiny right after I use a no-lye. It's usually kinda rough and I have to clarify and super condition it several times before it gets this soft. My hair is bone straight but still looks and feels thick. This one is a keeper. it's WELL worth the price!

Yeah, I voted months ago that I tried it and would not use it again, but after a crappy experience with an attempted texlax, I think I am going to give phyto another go. It did leave my hair feeling heavy and limp, but after I washed and as the weeks progressed, my hair felt strong, and I got zero shedding. So yeah, I am definitely going to try it again for my next relaxer in September. I'll just stretch for 6 months at a time instead of 3 in order to not break the piggy bank :)

I think that I will try it one day , but actually I relax twice a year and I decided to texlax the next time Idon't know if they have a texturiser .

Any ladies still using phyto with good results?

No... I decided to go back to using lye relaxers and allowing a stylist to do my relaxers. (1) I was either underprocessing or overprocessing my hair and that just wasn't going to work. (2) I stretched for 11 weeks last time to get over the scalp burn I gave myself when I put the phyto in and then I let a stylist put in a lye relaxer. I really liked the way my hair came out with the lye relaxer better, so I'm done with phyto and all other no-lye relaxers.

On that note, I have a Phyto Index II that I bought that I'm not going to use. It came without the Milky reconstructor. I saved half a tube of the milky reconstructor from the first Phyto Relaxer I did to use with the second one, but I am not going to put the phyto in now. I was just going to toss it, but if any one wants it PM me and it's yours for the price of shipping (nothing else in the kit has been opened).

I started using Phyto II in January. Last Saturday, I used it for the 3rd time last Saturday. I don't plan to ever use a different relaxer for my hair.

Hey ladies... I used this for my June relaxer..but I had so much other stuff going on.. I really didn't pay attention to the results... that was before I was a real LHCF freak..lol.. I plan on taking the second half with me to the Salon.. I keep trying to get in touch with her to see what relaxer she uses...but for $55 she can use the rest of this up on me so it doesn't go to waste.

Oh I used Phyto II...but maybe I should've been using Phyto I since I might have "fine" hair? Oh well. The II will be finished! LOL!

A question for relaxed ladies:

since it seems to be the best thing going, i'm going to try it in January after 1 year without relaxing. who here actually uses it? are you tempted to try it, or are you happy with the relaxer you've been using all along?

I've used Phytorelaxer Index II for the past 5 years w/out any problems. What I love about it is that it hasn't burned my scalp in all the years I've been self-relaxing. Expensive product but worth the price. I did a touchup last weekend and have just ordered 2 boxes from beautyofasite for $60 each.

I tried it for the first time last week! I had been pondering it's use for about 2years! I'm not super impressed! Hair is kinda dry and hard. And Not sure it was processed completely! I will try it one more time in about 2-3 months and see how it works again!

I used it when i was relaxed, it got my hair super soft and straight everytime. I would recommend the whole product line, even the vitamins are great.

Per convo with fine hair sensei Lavendar...I'm going to try out Index I after 4 yrs of using Index II...

I have used Index II for about a year. At first, I LOVED Phyto. My hair came out so straight and shiny with little shedding. But, recently I have noticed that my hair is drying and I got serious breakage at my temples. I don't know if it was a cumulative effect or some kind of error on my part. I read that Phyto can sometimes be hard to rinse out and neutralize, so that could be it. I'm debating whether or not to try again.

I cheated on Phyto last friday. I went with the Alter -Ego, no lye, Because I noticed my hair was drying out.(not sure if this was due to the season or not) My hair came out really nice, I will give it a couple of weeks to see if it was worth it.

I tried index 2 a couple years ago and it was great. It straightened my hair very well and I had no issues with dryness. Availability is what caused me to stop...oh and the body is INCREDIBLE!

I have used it and if you gone weeks with out an relaxer like over 10 weeks ...you need to use 2 or 3 for thick hair.....Has anyone tried Hawian Silky curl recontructer??heard it is great for the summer months...I heard it really loosens up the curl!!!!

I did a touchup when I was 18 weeks post with Phyto; I still only needed one container and I didn't have to scrape the bottom. (I had a 2nd box on hand, just in case, but I never needed to open it.)

I voted 'tried it but won't use it again'
I bought a box and used it for my last two touch ups. I relaxed my hair in two sessions, first the front then the back. Each section got full application and smoothing time. But it didn't get my hair as straight as I wanted it. It texturized my hair. Now granted I used the weaker one, the one for fine hair because that's what I have. But I don't use heat that often anymore and I can CLEARLY see the difference between my older relaxed hair and the Phyto relaxed hair. I don't like that. It looks goofy.
But if I had a head full of virgin hair Phyto would be my relaxer of choice. Maybe one day I'll try the stonger version and see if that gets my hair any straighter. But that will be after I use up the big a$$ tub of Mizani I just bought :-)

...that's who I was gonna cheat with...:look:

It's still not too late to dip...

I'm gonna bug you in a few weeks for feedback.. :sekret:

Just did a touchup after a 6 month stretch with my beloved Phyto I. Love it, love it, love it. My hair had body, shine and swang from minute 1. No other relaxer compares IMO. You have to watch for dryness, however, if you don't have a tight moisture regiment.
