Have you ever mentioned LHCF.....

SUPER SWEET

Well-Known Member
This morning at work I got a compliment on my hair. /images/graemlins/clap.gif And the woman asked what was my secret? I said to her I joined LHCF online and it was one of the best things I've ever done. I told her it's not only for haircare but I feel a sense of community. Well.....she /images/graemlins/mad.gif went off about how we are lonely, angry conceited....blah blah women with no life. Then she and another woman proceed to look up the site and critize it. I am ready to /images/graemlins/swearing.gif /images/graemlins/censored.gif /images/graemlins/angry2.gif but I am not.
From the looks of their overprocessed, breaking and matted hair they both need to get on the site immediately!!
I am ready for us to get T-shirts because I see alot of women here that need acess to the great information I have found out about everything under the sun. I even think my fashion taste has changed. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Of course for the better. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
Thanks ladies /images/graemlins/kiss.gif you are the friends I don't have here...
Has this happened to you? Just curious.

Yes I started a thread about this when I first joined. I don't tell ANYONE about this forum anymore because of the reactions that I got. A friend of mine wanted to see a picture of me with my instant weave last week so I just gave her the link to my album. WHY DID I DO THAT???? Now she thinks I'm a lunatic that has nothing better to do than take pictures of my hair and put them on the internet. She laughed for like 15 minutes after she saw my album. It was NOT funny to me. I was llike YOU can stand to go on that site to take care of your jacked up hair and the fashion board wouldn't hurt either.

I agree i would love it if they started making LHCF T-shirts! i would be the first to get one. Ne way dont pay any attention to them. Them not being open to forums like these resulted in them having torn up hair while it gave you healthy hair. Let them talk. When they see your hair is getting nicer and nicer everyday that will shut them up.

Yup I tell people i am a member of this site and the minute i open thier mouth to say something negative i just let what they say go in one ear and out the other. I noticed too that its mostly the people with the busted up hair are the ones to start talking trash about forums like these.

I don't tell anyone about this site. I feel like this is my place to come to away from my family and friend's. I am really open with my posts in the OT and OT 18+ section and I don't want any1 I know approaching me about something I posted. So I never tell any1 I know about the LHCF. My sister is a natural and I directed her to Nappturality when she asked me about hair care. I know I am selfish but you have to keep something that is just for you.

I agree. My husband knows about it but I won't tell him the name of the site /images/graemlins/spinning.gif

A lot of my family knows about this site, and few are members. They don't visit much though. I've told women who have asked about my hair about this site, and I haven't received any negative reactions yet. I don't think they visit the site but they don't say anything bad about. I probably have been lucky.

I have gotten mixed reactions from people when I tell them about LHCF. Some look at me like /images/graemlins/nuts.gif, and others are really interested in learning about it. My hubby has just given in to the fact that I am totally obsessed with hair and LHCF. Other than him I have only told my mom, cousin, and slipped it out to my sister by accident (I really don't want her to know about it just yet, because her hair has a tendency to grow faster than mines, and I would hate for her hair to pass mine too quickly.) I know sibling rivalry, right. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've only told a couple of people who I know really well. I think about it, but then I say "naw."

I've considered telling a couple people about this site, but I do like the "privacy" aspect of other folks not knowing what I'm saying and doing.

I wouldn't want someone to go through and read my posts. I haven't said anything deathly personal, but I still don't want just everybody having access to what I write.

So only my husband knows about the site /images/graemlins/smile.gif He used to clown me, but now he'll ask, "So have you heard anything interesting on the hair board?"

Oh...my bf is the only one who knows exactly what this site is about...he also use to tease me until he started seeing the results. He loves the gossip and pics from the entertainment forum. Everytime something happens...he is like: So what did your girls say about ______? I swear their better than the National Enquirer.

I have. And my former secretary will ask me occasionally if I got that off my hair board. I told another one of my co-workers who is natural about it and she didn't have anything negative to say. In fact, she asked me how I maneuvered about the site. She joined and everything.

My husband knows about it and every piece of entertainment news that comes out, I tell him I've already seen it on my hair board. He was scoffing at it until I was giving him lots more details than he was getting.

It is this very same reason that I can tell certain people don't need to know. /images/graemlins/nono.gif They look for things to criticize about. I certainly told my mom, aunts and best friends about it but I simply tell coworkers or acquaintances that I found a regimen that works for me.

Right before I was about to join, I told a friend I was joining a "hair board" and she laughed, said I was crazy and obsessive, etc. It kinda hurt my feelings a little bit, so I never mentioned it to her again. No one else knows about it and I'm glad. I like having someplace private to chat and network. I also don't like the idea of anyone in my life being able to just show up here and see things that I've written. Plus, I don't give out hair advice so there would be no reason for me to direct anyone to this site.

I've only told my sister and my mom about this site. One of my sisters joined but dont come on that much another never visited the site but weent out and bought me Shamboosie's book for Christmas last year. My mom says she dont have time to do all things required for healthy hair so she continues to wear weave and not do any thing till her next weave job is done. So sad. /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

I feel the same way. Well, my husband saw the site when I first found it and was like what it that and I told him and he smirked and that was it. He knows I visit, but that's about it.

My mom and my sis know about my love for hair boards. I have been memebers of one or more since March 1999. They don't say much and sometimes ask if I can ask questions for them...lol. They can see my hair is doing well and growing so the board can't be all bad /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have had the same experience. I think people are just too quick to judge other people. I have only told my husband and a few other people about this site, because I think people would assume that I was conceited and had nothing better to do with my time.

Oh and my BF loves it, especially on Sundays when he's watching football and I'm next to him on the laptop "working" on LHCF. He's been really supportive of my hair growth (he even waits while I spend 20 minutes in the BSS or hair section of the grocery store) and always reminds me of the foolish girl who wanted to throw in the towel and get a weave. What can I say, I'm impatient.

DITTO!

At first, I was telling anyone who'd listen. I only wish I had never mentioned it in the first place to anyone except my mother and my cousin. Now I don't tell anyone unless they ask about my regimen, and then they may ask how I know the info I am telling them. Even then, I will just say, oh there's this site online I found out about. I am sick of people acting as if caring about my hair means I belong in an asylum...especially when, as some of you have mentioned, their hair is jacked up and/or never seems to grow /images/graemlins/look.gif.

I tell some friends an co workers that I think may be intersted. I took my best friend to the Mmephis meeting...she is thinking about joining now.

My husband thought I was a little too obsessed at first (which I was, I'm on WAAY less now).
But when I came back from the salon with hair past my shoulders for the first time EVER (I'd been wearing it in protective styles constantly for months and he'd only seen it that way for awhile), he became a believer in the results.
"Your hair is REALLY long."
"I know."
"Is that because of that hairboard?"
"Mmmhmm."
"hmm."

my mother(sew-in) and my sister(thick and healthy) make fun of me and say that all my hair is going to fall out from washing it so much and that i could open up my own bss but i don't care what they say i am not perming my hair again(i think)

I have mentioned the site to a few people when I got compliments on my hair, but never a real bad reaction. My mom and my husband are the only ones who know how obsessed I am though. My mom loves the board, and my husband is pleased about he fact that he can get all the good celebrity gossip right from me via this site /images/graemlins/grin.gif. I mean you ladies stay on it, and we love it, lol.

I haven't told anyone about this board because I never desired to "spread the word". I always thought in the back of my mind that people will think I am crazy. At the beginning I was obsessive but now I have slowed down on my spending a lot.

I tell peopel about it if it comes into conversation. I guess how people take it depend on how you present the site to them. If anyone thinks I'm nuts for coming here they have told me, Except for my roommate who call LHCF. She doesn't understand. She was born with beautiful hair and only have to do the absolute basics to keep it up.

I tell my mother and my best friend all the time..."do you know what happened to a lady at the hair board?" or I mention some hair advice that you guys have given. They think I'm nuts /images/graemlins/spinning.gif of course, but they don't laugh. (Anymore!)

My BF and mother knows about the board and that's it. I will not tell nobody else until i have reached my goal. Maybe not then either

I thought I was the only one who did that. /images/graemlins/sekret.gif

I found this board while doing a google search for "Dominican Salon"... I hate to say it,I like this site so much already that I may have mentioned it to my best friend, but if she forgot I won't remind her LOL
