OKay, when I use to go to the shop at get my hair washed....my hair grew sooo much.... Now that I wash it myself at home....I havent seen the same kind of growth....I am guessing maybe salons have a better hair washing technique? I am using the same products and everything ...anyways what you think?

Do you massage your scalp while shampoo'ing?...That could be it because most salons massage the shampoo in which increases blood circulation to the scalp. I do this at home.

I don't think salon washing makes my hair grow any better but my hair feels better generally after a salon wash. The comb goes through better, feels much better. Maybe I should pay more attention when there washing to get some tips!!!!

I do not but the Salon does this....Any massage tips?

i learned this in cosmetology school. hope this helps.

the best place to wash your hair is the shower, with head tilted back. this way the water is able to flow better through the hair and the hair is not piling on top. doing this helps to avoid tangles. rinse the hair and scalp properly. make sure every strand is wet. this should take a few minutes before you add shampoo. use lukewarm water.

use only the pads of your fingers to cleanse and massage the scalp. do not use your nails. using your nails can cause tears, cuts, scratches, and breakage. do not pile the hair on top of your head and only cleanse and massage the scalp. do not rub, srub, or massage your hair. this will create tangle, breakage etc... allow the water and suds from the shampoo to flow through the strands to cleanse the hair. (rinse process).

if you have a lot of buildup repeat or clarify the hair and scalp first before using your moisturizing shampoo.

after you have rinsed all of the shampoo out, towel dry your hair (plot the hair with the towel, avoid rubbing). proceed with conditioner. don't apply conditioner to your scalp. the conditioner is for your hair.

Thank you for sharing this info...I tend to focus only on my scalp as well and squeeze the condish down the hair shaft (I only use condish to wash).

There's a thread going on right now about not applying condish to your roots...Most folks who've responded so far disagree with the expert advice.

Thanks for sharing. I am wearing a weave right now so I guess I have to work extra hard with massaging my hair and everything.
