Thanks for this thread. I was right I am 4a/b. I am 4b all around the edges and in the lower 1/4 of my hair in the back. I am 4a everywhere else.

From the pictures... I think i'm what Ayeshia is... I already can't remember, i'm multi-tasking and I went through most of these pages... I think it was 3b ...either way, I do have some 4a in the crown area... noticed that during the weekend... tight, small curls, REALLY DARK AND COARSE. That's why I can't strecth the relaxer too long :( The new growth everywhere else hardly even curls up, it's just a WaVe, with a wee-bit of a curl and it's not as dark as the crown area. I don't have pix though, my camera phone isn't very high-tech :look:

Well, I haven't seen Ladycapri's hair pics but I do believe that everyone is title to their own opinions and I find it extremely childish to come on the board and try to knock them for what they think their hair type is. And that is the bottom line, we are all grown and I showed this thread to my boyfriend and all he could do was laugh and was like how typical of women, especially women of color always hating on each other -- and this board is here to bring us together, we all joined for the same reason and I really do not think that this bashing should be going on, it is really ridiculous.

As far as hair typing goes and since I do have a lot of newgrowth at this point and time, I previously thought I was a 4 something, but I realized now that my hair is a 3c/4a.

Thank a bunch. Though I cannot get into the album that is password locked, I was able to diagnose myself thus far as 3c (maybe 3B) with 4a at the nape of my neck. I've always thought that I was either 4a or 4b. My new growth generally grows out wavy/a little kinky.

Funny, most of my hair is 3c maybe 3b and tends to hold moisture well. I do not need to add a lot of oils and etc to my hair. Now the nape for sure is 4a, it reverts the fastest and also the driest section. This diagnosis for sure correlates to my regimen and how my hair reacts to water and oils.

Hi Shariracquel,

let me preface by saying I know none of your statement was directed at me...but I guess we saw the postings from a different perspective. This was my first viewing of this thread and I've been around for about a year now.

I'm quite familiar with the women who were trying to offer an opinion of hair type to LadyCapri...and it was disagreed with by her. By no means did I sense any bashing going on. The women who did offer the hair type info are by no means "haters" (ugggh, that word) of any sort...they have really lovely heads of hair and are quite informed and helpful...and I believe they were acting in that manner.

Welcome to the board and congratulations on you impending nuptuals.
