Hair Butchering!

That's a shame! At first I was like well her hair doesn't look that bad, but the pics the month before were much prettier. Poor thing, but you know it's another lesson to trust our instincts, the minute that stylist tried to rake through her hair with a fine tooth comb she should have run out of there, but I know she could not have imagined she'd cut inches when she had very specifically asked for a dusting.

That's a shame what happened to her. Stories like these make me nervous to go get my hair trimmed. It's hard enough to see length as a natural b/c of shrinkage, and a bad haircut just makes it worse.

I'll probably study over some of the self-trimming/dusting threads and completely take care of my own hair. It's one of the reasons I went natural anyways---freedom from stylists.

That's awful! . I'm sorry she had to go through that. She has gorgeous hair and hearing about so many horror stories makes me very cautious.

At first I was like its not so bad. But then I looked at her other albums and that girl jacked her hair up. It was so much fuller in the previous month pictures.

Some of these stylists are crazy.

Your hair will bounce back! It will look just as good, I think it is beautiful, I know how you feel when you said what you went through on becoming Natural! But we all here support you and Yes she should pay for what she did.

That's terrible. A "trim" like that can really hurt your self-esteem and self-confidence.

The more I read this, the madder I got. I wanted to fight her for you! This is the reason why I BC'd on my own. I made an appointment with my hairdresser that I used for years while I was permed, and she has always had a TIGHT natural, so I felt comfortable. But when she started describing how she would cut it--like hot combing it straight and I haven't used heat in 9 months--I skipped out on the appointment and did it myself. Now you have me not ever wanting to go to a stylist again! I hate my husband running his hand through my fro!

Wow.

I would sue the snot out of them... that's not something I take lightly. I looked at the pics and thought... um ok her hair is pretty until I saw the before shots. I was floored. I would be just as livid.

This is just one of the reasons why you don't let everyone in your hair.

I am so mad and saddened right now and it's not even my hair.
