Guys, tell me if this sounds right.

So I got some Senegalese twists about a month ago, and about 2 weeks afterwards some twist starting slipping out. Just slipping right out of my head. So I tell the haridresser that did it and she goes, "Well it's been 4 weeks and I usually don't do (akfdnkl I didn't hear what she said) after that." I inform her that I had actually informed her that they had fallen out before, but I was having problems with my phone, so I was just getting back to her. She tells me since I'm not able to get there for a while since I'm out of town that by the time I get there I would have had to get a touch up anyway and that she will take $10 off her usual price of $50.

I agreed but as I'm thinking about it now I'm like "UMMMMMM NEIN!"

Plus when she was braiding last time, I guess my excess hair that she pinned at the top of my head would get caught in the braid and she would just rip it out. I asked her to stop and she was just like "Well, what do you want me to do" and said my hair was dry and I had breakage in the nape. The more I'm typing this the more I don't want to give her any more of my money.

LOL

Why should I pay for the hairdresser's mistake? What do you guys think? But then again, if I take all the twists out to get them redone, I will have to pay like $100 +.

Butttt I was thinking about getting them redone anyway because I have build up around the base :nono: . I have a terrible dry scalp and the flakes have gotten caked in with product. I should take them out before I end up with dreads

What do you guys think?

Watch some YouTube videos first of how to do them and buy a 5 dollar pack of hair to practice. Try taking down one at a time and redoing them. If you succeed you just saved yourself a 100 dollars and tons of aggravation. You could take a week and wash sections and retwist. If you fail, u only lost 5 dollars. Then I say hold on to the twists for another week to get your money's worth ( moisturize, wear a thick head band and put it in a bun to hide loose braids.. U could even take down the middle and hide it with the perimeter braids)... Then take them all out and go to a better hairdresser.

Good luck!

You can learn on your own as suggested (which I highly recommend. Just takes some practice and patience) OR just get them done over completely by a different hair dresser. She would get no more of my money.

Do not allow negative energy to touch your hair...you will only regret it. Even if you don't want to DIY, which I highly reccomend as well, don't have someone that doesn't want to take the time to do a good and non-damaging job do your hair. Let her rip out someone else's hair!

Perhaps I'm missing something, but braiders usually do charge to touch-up your hair. However, if you feel like she did not do a good job the first time, if it were me, I would not let her touch my hair again, let alone pay for it.

Start fresh if your hair is dirty..no need to get touchups from her either way though when she cant make em stay in-get a new braider.

I had the same problem, Kinky twists and Senegalese twists slipping right out of my head within less than a week of being installed. This happened with two different braiders. The first set of kinky twists were done at a salon. The owner said my hair was "too soft" to hold braids although I see White women wearing extensions on the regular.

I posted about it here: http://goingnaturaltransitioningtonaturalhair.com/protective-hairstyles/do-your-braids-slip-out/

It turned out to be the technique. The second braider (works out of her house) used a different technique when I saw her the second time after the initial Senegalese twists started to slip out.

I agree with the other posters, find a different braider who will not rip out your hair or learn to DIY. I am thinking about going back to a braider I used a couple of years ago but her prices are double ($200) what I paid the most recent braider ($100+ tip) and the Senegalese twists may still slip out.

I would never pay for touch up of a few twists but it has been four weeks. You can't expect free fixin's now. How long is your hair? Are you natural or did you get this done too soon after a relaxer for the twists to slip?

Its hard to tell from what you posted if this was a bad install but I don't like how you described putting them in (stop means stop) and I'd spend my money elsewhere if you decide to get them done again.
