Hi. Like I said upthread, I was pretty sick this weekend, and I barely managed to wash and tuck away my hair this weekend. But I have been having velcro ends, so I tried using grease on my ends to see if it will prevent it. If it won't, I am doing a trim over the weekend. Not much to post this week, as I am still under the weather

Sorry to hear you're under weather, hope you feel better soon! Let us know how you're feeling next week and you can start posting when you're feeling much better. Get 7 or more hours of sleep daily, foods with vitamin C or supplement, hot green tea with lemon, L-lysine supplement if possible, no processed or packaged foods if possible, and low amount of carbs while in recovery should help you recover sooner than later :)

Before you cut your ends, Please try a moistire deep conditong with heat

Maybe the Shea Butter is making your hair hard like many others in this thread have mentioned. Maybe do a balance between Shea Butter and something else or try beef tallow if you're able to get it

I'm from Zimbabwe :)
Just saw that you're from Zimbabwe! :)

If there are dishes that are similar to pepper soup (habenero peppers and other peppers are high in vitamin C and they naturally get rid of mucus in the body). Have your portions of meat high and portion of rice/swallow very low to none at all while recovering

I drank 2 cups of fenugreek tea today..added honey.

My fenugreek tea was for rinses awhile back, but I could not get with the lingering maple syrup smell.

Drinking it was fine. I have 63 more bags of tea to drink.. then I'll decide if I'll keep it up & and order more.

It's a peptic ulcer flare up so I have to change my diet (no spices, no tomato based foods, just plain, regular meals so my stomach can heal)

I have been upping moisture and hoping it works, but the ends have to go at some point

I understand, it's great you're taking caution to heal. This is a short vid from a Dr. that has had the same experience with peptic ulcers. I have not had this issue or known anyone to try this remedy he suggests, but this Dr. reads a lot of research articles to try and educate people to heal themselves

In addition to what he says, I recommend boiling 16-24 ounces of water with a bit of salt or no salt, then adding chicken thighs and/or legs, or a whole chicken with bones in them and the skin on (I have to say that because the US sells "boneless" and "skinless" chicken) and lower the temp a bit and let it simmer for 6-18 hours. The bones should become soft and eat the marrow and cartilage of the bones. When your stomach is healed you can eat the bones too. The nutrients from bones and chicken broth that you drink will help in healing the lining of your stomach

I hope these work out for you if you try them. Wishing you a speedy recovery :heart3:

Yay to upping moisture! :)

Please be patient! Your hair was thriving in the last pic you shared with us! Listen to her...

This is a great vid showing easy to find ingredients for a deep moisturizing conditioner. Apply heat or baggy for hour plus when deep conditioning

Once your moisture starts coming back, you might want to try this treatment once in a while to feed your hair follicles nutrients. Follow up immediately with a moisture conditioner if your hair hates protein

HTH! :)

Maybe you should try soaking Fenugreek Seeds over night in water or up to 24 hours. This is how I use Fenugreek Seeds (I have soaked them up to 48 and 72 hours, the longer soaked the more yellow the water becomes, less time might be less smell?) and do not notice a smell on me after use. I haven't done a 48-72H soak in a while, and can't remember clearly regarding the smell, but I don't think there was. The quality of seeds vary in freshness when bought. I have been using the ones I have for a while. Maybe still worth a try to see if that works better for you. You can also add Lavender, Tee Tree, Peppermint and other essential oils with a carrier oil to remove the smell when used topically:)

Until now when I did my spin pin Bantu knot buns I was doing them pretty tight so my hair would be slick. I thought my buns looked ugly if they weren’t slick. But this morning I did it much looser. I don’t want to stretch out my curls at the base of my bun. My acceptance of a not so slick buns has increased with time (I’m 25 weeks in)

I washed my hair last night because it was feeling dry, I think its the change in season that is affecting me. It's drier and cooler now, so my hair will definitely feel affected. But I should also let go of my thin ends in the front, as they have been knotting.

I shampooed first with a Tresemme shampoo, then second wash was with a hydrating shampoo. Deep conditioned with the Skala conditioner under a heating cap. Most value for money DC I have bought, I still haven't finished the 1 litre jar, even as I wash weekly, and I am heavy handed with conditioner. Rinsed out 90% (the DC can also be used as a leave in) and dried in a microfibre towel. Then I went in section by section, applying my leave in and butter, then vaseline before detangling, and threading up that section. I massaged in a peppermint hair growth oil, then tried to style the threading.

Sounds like you had a very successful wash day and your hair is looking nice and thick! :)

Since you said you were having issues with your ends knotting, to prevent this issue in the future, saturating your hair or midlength to ends with an oil or conditioner before shampooing (Pre-Poo) can help prevent them drying out and knotting

Glad to see you this week and hope you're feeling better:heart3:

I’m a total Briogeo addict. I love this conditoner and these 2 deep conditioners. The conditioner has a lot of slip and is very easy to detangle with, and yet it doesn’t have any cones or parabens.

My current routine is to use the DDR mask once a month and the superfood DC every other week. I rarely get out and use my heat cap with them I just DC in the shower for ~10 minutes while I detangle my hair and wash myself.

I have the Cecred reconstructing mask so at some point I will see how it compares to the Briogeo mask.

The first pic my shirt wasn't completely centered and is a smidge lower than today's pic
I put the second pic to show that there was a difference in the placement of the neckline
Today's pic should be easier with the placement of the neck line for consistent and accurate length checks

I do notice growth and will continue with daily co washing of my nape while the majority of hair is in braids

@VarieYvette and @GettingKinky hair is looking healthy and thick, keep it up! :)

@snoop and @faithVA - Friendly reminder for Bi-Weekly pics :heart3:

I know I said I would participate but I'm going to opt out of this particular challenge so I can focus on all that I already have on my plate. My apologies. I knew I had too much going on already when I said yes.
