Okay I get "hair tips" from people who doesn't have any hair to begin with ( Case in point, hair stiff dried up has to wear weave to make a ponytail) Yet they holler that Hair grease makes your hair grow. I thought it only clogs up the hair follicle? Can somebody tell me if it's good or not???

Personally I don't care for it. My hair looks limp and stringy and it's harder to comb.

But some people do find it useful as a treatment for the ends of their hair.

No, Grease doesn't make your hair grow-- It's growing already by itself. But I do use grease on my ends before putting it in a bun. It seals my ends and prevents me from putting my hands in my hair.

But if you put some Sulphur in that grease,... now that could help your hair grow a little faster. But petroleum by itself? Na...

I only like grease in two ways:
1. When I have a weave. I grease my scalp like crazy because I think that it's "marinating" while its up in those rows...
2. After I have had it washed/pressed and worn it down for a coupl of days, then I grease it well and put it in the "bun".
But I have met more and more women that don't grease and are NOT suffering, so I don't think that grease=growth.

Grease/hair dressing does not work for me. It can clog your pores and coat your hair shaft, preventing moisture from getting in. My scalp and forehead break out in pimples if I use it. I use creamy leave-ins instead for moisture benefits. But that's just me.

My hair has grown just fine through the years with leave-ins instead of grease.
