Grease? Pomade? What's the difference?

Ok, I just rediscovered greasing my scalp, and I looove it. I used to have to get my scalp greased when I was a little kid, but I never saw the purpose and my hair was too thick for me to try and sit there and make little parts trying to find my scalp by myself so I just said forget it.

Anyway, I'm a greasaholic now, after living most of my life not touching the stuff, and I'm looking for something different to put on my scalp (most grease is just vaseline....I'm not paying $6 for vaseline). Pomade looks interesting but I don't know exactly what it is. It seems like in some product lines the pomade is more for styling purposes. However, in alot of product lines aimed at AA hair...the pomade just looks like grease.

Does anyone know the difference?

girl, to me it is the same thing - just different products with different ingredients. Sometimes I think "grease" is viewed in such a bad way, some want to use "pomade".

BTW - I LOVE grease too. I don't hear that stuff about grease being bad!! My hair and scalp love it.

I just have to make sure I use good ones or they make my scalp flaky.
