Product rave: Oyin Burnt Sugar Pomade

I love all of her products. I had some burnt sugar pomade BUT UNFORTUNATELY, I gave my sisters permission to raid my haircare closet when I moved from Los Angeles. The pomade was GONE when I returned to collect the rest of my stuff. :(

I'm always raving about her reddish brown honey tint. Don't get me started!!

Oh no, why was this thread bumped! The Burnt Sugar pomade has been on my to try list for sometime now, along with some other Oyin goodies. I already ordered some BT and stuff from Tenderheaded.com and now this! What am I a gonna do... :whyme:

Darn, sorry Priestess. Get the Burnt Sugar Pomade. It's gooood! I have to order my hair pins from tenderheaded.com still. I know my hair will thank me!!!

*Whispering to Priestess*.....get the Whipped Pudding too....hee hee. I know that was wrong but it's really good too and smells like chocolate:lick: .

Yes, I love the chocolate smell too! I ordered the lip tints. I cant wait to try them out.
 
I used the burnt sugar pomade today and I can't stop smelling my hair:blush: the shine is amazing and it's a nice product overall! I love it!
 
Using my Oyin more and more. I had the sample pack. The Shine and Define is now being used on top of my EcoStyler for my twists-S&D seems to help with shrinkage reduction..nice. I've just started using the Burnt Sugar and it is giving a cold weather shine which it never did in the warmer weather. I am in love with Frank..the scent is so peaceful and it does add great moisture as it awakens my morning un-scarfed twists. I just reordered the Greg, Frank Juices and Shine/Define. Still not sold on the WHIPPED PUDDING or the annoying scent of Juices/Berries.:perplexed
 
I've been meaning to pick up some Burnt Sugar for the longest and will be doing that this weekend, as well as stocking up on some Fizzy Milk Baths!

I ended up giving J&B away, but not after tasting it, and if it wasn't for that distinct chemical-y aftertaste, it was really good. :look:

You tasted Juices and Berries? What did it taste like:look:?
 
There was a card that came with my package that said, "sprinkle out some 'to taste.'"

Now, me, I cannot read between the lines. I need you to tell me in plain English what you mean. I was wondering about tasting it, but then thought I shouldn't because it read "to taste" in quotes!

So, when I gave it to a friend who loved how it smelled, I told her what the card said and she pointed out it was all natural, so it wouldn't kill us and we both had a squirt. :lol: It wasn't bad - light, fruity, dynamic. I'm assuming there was a preservative in there that accounted for the bad after taste.
 
The description said that burnt sugar is the texture of old school grease but mine was kind of waxy and weird feeling. It looks nothing like the product in the picture. Did I get a bad one? It smells delicious.

I stalked them too for a while, a piece of advice if you don't want to wait forever to get it try buying it from naturallycurly.com it's the same price and it gets to you a lot faster. And as for the burnt sugar it is great but I can't go outside with it on the sweet smell attracts bugs lol

I do not mind the wait by ordering directly from OYIN-not that long..perhaps 2 weeks. I only order on line when payments can be made using money orders or checks so I make sure to order before I reach the end of my products.

:yep:Yup, gritty butter but I rub it in my hands to liquify and it's fine. I have so much coconut oil, cocoa butter, jojoba and raw shea butter, some essence of flower water, aloe vera gel, glycerin and access to natural fragrances locally so will be making my own mixtures for pomades. The Greg and Frank..well Oyin has my business.
 
Does anyone use the juices on their body like body spray? It feels a little sticky on the hair so i was thinking it would feel the same on the body.
 
I just used some Burnt Sugar Pomade today. I moisturized my pressed hair with Qhemet's BRBC and sealed with the Burnt Sugar Pomade. It's wonderful.
 
@Locolocha: in one of their videos, Jamyla and Pierre were saying that some of their clients use the juices as body sprays

@shocol: I should try that..I've never thought of mixing BRBC and BSP

I use it for twists/twist outs with great definition when using this. I also use this to slick back my hair for when I wear my hair in puffs and/or ponytails. I love this product.
