I like them....

BUT

I wish the cornrows were smaller and I think they show too mich... Maybe I'm just picky.

Do you mean there is too much cornrow before the loose hair starts? I don't suppose you have any pics to show us yet.;)

No.. they are a lil bigger than some I've seen.. I took these rather quickly (in my pjs, lol and at a low resolution).

They look really pretty. From the closeup, I can see why you think the braids are too big, but the style looks good.

The bigger ones, may be safer for your hairline, anyway. But, did they tell you how long it will last?

HD:

That could be, b/c she does not like to do stuff that breaks your hair off. I was ready to rip these things out Saturday - got them done Friday night.

She said it depends on how fast my hair grows - 1-2 mths.

Thanks!

ITA with everything you said. I think she should have started pulling the hair out sooner, but it's a very pretty 'do.

lwill38: In the Atlanta area. this lady named Yaya....

balisi: I suppose... it's my 1st time with them - usually get micros... but this took 2 hrs 15 min. I do have some individual braids in the back. Are you the one I read a post stating you do hair?

I be the one. :D

I know how to do tree braids (took a hands-on class), but I haven't perfected my technique just yet. Need just a little more practice.

Weird I was just mulling over whether or not to get tree braids?

Still ain't made up my mind cuz I'm cheap!:look:

But I'm trying to rest my fro a bit!

Height,

I'm not sure how many packs she used - she provided the hair ($110). The colors are #4 & #33.

I hope so... just got braids out in Jan. and a perm. Last perm before then was 6/17/05. I wasn't trying to stretch, but I knew I was getting braids in August/Sept. The next perm was due in the 1st week of Aug (6-8 wks) and that was too close... so... Last perm was either 1/21 or 1/27.

The whole style was $110 you got a deal! Is that human or synthetic?

I love your tree braids, I had some last year and loved them! I also paid about $110.00 for the style with synthetic hair. What was the name of the hair you used, I used body wave switch hair.

This is what I was wondering. I wanted to get them once with human hair but the "self-proclaimed" tree braider stood me up for my appointment!

Synthetic makes my scalp hurt? Can they be done with human hair? The cheapest I've found in my area is $180:eek: And ya gotta buy the hair.

lsw29, I'm not sure the brand; sorry. I know she buys all her hair wholesale. I went to YaYa. But aren't the braids supposed to be smaller? And, I'm guessing you're not supposed to see the braids in the back.

jamerican - They are synthetic and yes, they can be done with human hair.

That is definitely a steal! Very nice. The place I went to charged 180-200 for the braids and you have to buy the hair.

The braids should be small and you're NOT supposed to see any braids in the back.

Yeah where we are they do charge way more than they do Down South Imma hater!

I just called the girl who did it. she said she was offended b/c she squeezed me in and kept belaboring the point. I asked her what did that have to do w/ anything? I know she was tired, and I told her, I appreciate you sqeezing me in, but I'll come back. She said no. Now that day, I was tired too, so... and maybe b/c this was my 1st time with tree braids.... I guess it's like DSD told me: not everyone can do them. They may do lovely micros, individuals, etc.. I told her I've told too many people about her not to be pleased, and if I came back, I must have been happy, but not this time.

So, I go back over there tomorrow for her to look @ them. They ARE cute, but I think she put all the hair @ the bottom, and not full enough up front and in the crown. And I think they are too big - after looking @ other pics. I don't know if she's gonna redo them, but she said she wanted me to be happy, as she wants to keep me as a customer.

Nosey folx wanna know the outcome?;)

Yes, your braids should be smaller, but your hair doesn't look bad. It took me getting tree braids three times before I found someone who could really do them.

Yes, tree braids can be done with human hair, they do charge more but a lot of people do choose to go the human hair route.
